How Mama June Keeps Late Daughter Anna Cardwell’s “Memory Alive”

As an ardent follower of Mama June Shannon’s journey, I find myself deeply moved by her unwavering love and resilience in the face of adversity. Losing a child is an unimaginable pain that no one should ever have to experience, but watching Mama June navigate through this heartache with such grace and fortitude is truly inspiring.

Mama June Shannon is still working through the loss of her daughter Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell

Almost a year following the demise of her 29-year-old daughter, the star of “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” shared insights into her feelings of mourning.

On Monday it will mark a year since Anna Marie Cardwell was with us, and boy do we miss her! I would gladly spend all my money to have a chat with her again and see her here for her daughters.

Anna, who was the mother to Kaitlyn (age 12) and Kylee (age 8), passed away last year following a tough fight against stage four adrenal carcinoma. June confessed that she sometimes finds herself swept up by waves of sorrow, acknowledging that those experiencing grief don’t have the power to predict or manage when and how it strikes them. June underscored that the heartache of losing her 29-year-old daughter is a unique form of grief, distinct from mourning any other family member.

The 45-year-old explained that residing in the same home as she did with Anna proves challenging, yet it’s a method she employs to honor her pledge to her deceased daughter, ensuring she remains part of the family—and on occasions, she converses aloud with her daughter before departing the premises.

In her own words, “Some might find this unusual, but for my family and me, it’s important to preserve her memory in our lives.

Besides being known as June, she is also the mother to Jessica (age 28), Lauryn (age 24), Alana (age 19), and currently caring for Anna’s child, Kaitlyn. She also revealed another method she uses to keep her daughter close by with her.

June mentioned that she’s still part of our family group chat,” she said. “She refuses to remove any messages or exclude herself from it.

The reality star also admitted that she returns to her late daughter’s social media often.

She mentioned that she frequently visits her TikTok account, watches her videos regularly, and looks up her name to find other users’ creations based on her.
