As a lifelong WWE enthusiast who’s seen more than my fair share of wrestling rings, I must say this latest turn of events has left me a bit disheartened. The blood and sweat that these athletes pour into their craft is truly astounding, and to see three key players like Jimmy Uso, Bronson Reed, and Tonga Loa sidelined due to injuries is quite the blow.
The reigning WWE Champion kicked off SmackDown, leading to a skirmish between Cody Rhodes and American Made, along with their leader Chad Gable. Sadly, WWE recently announced that three of its wrestlers are battling significant injuries following Survivor Series. These injured athletes were all part of the Bloodline vs Bloodline WarGames match, although Roman Reigns’ team emerged victorious over Solo Sikoa’s squad.
Earlier, it was clear that Jimmy Uso had broken a toe due to an incident involving his brother Jey Uso and Sami Zayn during a press conference. They detailed that the injury occurred when Jimmy performed the Uso Splash from atop the cage onto Jacob Fatu. In tonight’s WWE broadcast, it was announced that Jimmy will be out indefinitely as he undergoes recovery for this injury. This means we probably won’t see him participating alongside Reigns, Jey, and Zayn for a while.
On Sikoa’s part, things took a turn for the worse. Similar to Jimmy, Bronson Reed sustained an injury during his high dive from the cage, which resulted in him crashing through a table after CM Punk moved Reigns out of the way. Although Reed managed to complete the match, he was significantly affected by this incident thereafter.
Initially, it was rumored that Reed had injured his ankle, with further speculation suggesting he might have damaged both ankles during the fall. However, WWE has confirmed that Reed actually sustained a broken foot and is scheduled for surgery next week. This injury means Reed will be unable to compete for an undetermined period of time, leaving us to focus on Tonga Loa.
During the match, Tonga Loa sustained an injury, though the specifics of when and how it happened remain unclear. WWE has confirmed that Loa is currently out indefinitely due to a torn bicep. Consequently, both Bloodline factions will temporarily operate with one fewer member. We extend our well wishes for a swift recovery and all the best to Tonga Loa and his fellow wrestlers.
Initially, there was speculation that Jacob Fatu might have sustained an injury during a fall on his leg. He appeared to be limping and exaggerating the pain in the latter stages of the match, even taking the Uso Splash from Jimmy towards the end. However, it’s now been confirmed that this injury was just part of the storyline (kayfabe), and he appears to be unharmed and moving freely without any signs of injury.
