As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for visual novels and a penchant for all things quirky, I can hardly contain my excitement for the Switch release of “From Madness with Love“! Having dabbled in its PC version last year, I’m eager to immerse myself once more in the vibrant world of Kokain Private Academy. The unique characters, each with their distinct personalities and intriguing backstories, have left a lasting impression on me, and I can’t wait to see how they unfold in this portable version.
On May 29, 2025, the Switch edition of the otome visual novel “From Madness with Love” is set to be released, as confirmed by publishers PLAYISM and developers jamsanpoid and Vampire K.K.
In Japan, you’ll also find a hardcopy version available. The initial printings of this release come with a unique item – Mr. Arakawa’s fortunate loincloth, or fundoshi.

In a peculiar twist, “From Madness with Love” is a dating simulation game created by jamsanpoid. Here’s the strange predicament: you find yourself unable to express your feelings towards the person you admire… This unique and extraordinary journey offers a charming pixel art aesthetic and is fully-voiced in Japanese.
In this story, you find yourself in the role of a sophomore student who’s recently transferred to Kokain Private Academy due to an unfortunate incident at your previous school – it was destroyed. The advantage is that the new academy is conveniently located near where you live. Embark on a fresh and thrilling high school experience at this new institution, while also exploring the possibility of developing romantic relationships with four charming gentlemen.
Here are four individuals to consider: Yusuke Saeki, a charismatic yet playful classmate with a blonde hairstyle, Shuji Arakawa, the enigmatic school nurse who seldom shows his eyes fully, Marshmallow Tamura, an adorable and somewhat youthful-looking male student shrouded in mystery, and Aorta, your senior, possessing paler skin and currently serving as the student council president.
Familiarize yourself with them through various recurring events like club gatherings, sports tournaments, summer fests, New Year celebrations, the unique eel-flinging contest, and Valentine’s Day. The narrative will evolve based on your decisions, and each character will lead you down a distinct path to their own conclusion. However, if you try to connect with everyone indiscriminately, there’s a risk that you won’t stand out to anyone particularly…!
Characters
- Yusuke Saeki – A bright, mischievous, good-looking, flirtatious blond guy in the same class as you. Used to attend the same school as you. Cheerful, friendly and frank with everyone. His hobbies are sports and video games. He speaks in incomprehensible gibberish.
- Shuji Arakawa – A quiet and gentle teacher who rarely opens his eyes fully. The sexy school nurse at Kokain Private Academy. Might secretly have a meaner, darker side…? His hobbies are music and muscle training. He always has a seahorse tangled up in his hair.
- Tamura Marshmallow – The mysterious cute boy. His hobbies are eating and sleeping. He avoids talking to others as much as possible, and if you encounter him, he will fling insults at you and curse you out. He is well versed in the occult.
- Aorta – A senior student and the student council president of Kokain Private Academy. Cool and dignified. His trademarks are his pale skin and indecipherable foreign language. He has excellent grades and handles administrative tasks with ease, but also has a clumsy side. Currently studying Japanese culture, which he is very interested in.
