As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for horror games and an unyielding loyalty to my Xbox Game Pass subscription, I must admit that the upcoming update leaves me feeling a tad disheartened. Losing The Quarry and Amnesia: The Bunker is like losing two of my closest friends in a haunted house – just when I was getting comfortable with the dark corners and eerie whispers.
People who currently enjoy horror games through their free Xbox Game Pass subscription may not be pleased with the upcoming Xbox Game Pass update scheduled for later this month. In all, 13 games will be taken off the service, with some being removed on December 15 and others on December 31. Among these departing games are a few significant horror titles.
On December 15, the following games will no longer be available: Amnesia: The Bunker, Forager, Forza Horizon 4, Rainbow Billy: The Curse of the Leviathan, Rise of the Tomb Raider, The Quarry, and Tin Hearts. Starting December 31, the following games will disappear: BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle, Close to the Sun, Humankind, and LEGO 2K Drive.
For enthusiasts of horror video games, December 31 isn’t particularly special, but December 15 offers a double dose of terror with The Quarry and Amnesia: The Bunker. While these may not be the top-tier horror games offered through the subscription service, their absence will surely be noticed due to the limited selection in this genre. Regrettably, fans also recently bid farewell to Hello Neighbor 2 and The Walking Dead: The Final Season at the end of last month.
In summary, if a game is accessible through Xbox Game Pass, subscribers will receive a 20% discount when they decide to purchase it. Both games are relatively short, allowing you to complete them before December 15th. Specifically, The Quarry takes approximately 9 to 11 hours to finish, while Amnesia: The Bunker requires around 5 to 7 hours of gameplay.
