Path of Exile 2 Surpasses 578,000 Concurrent Players on Steam, Becomes 15th Most Played Title in History

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the resurgence of Path of Exile 2 is nothing short of astonishing. Having played everything from Pong to the latest AAA titles, I’ve never witnessed such a remarkable comeback, especially after a rocky start.

Following its debut, Grinding Gear Games’ Path of Exile 2 has broken a new record, boasting a staggering 578,569 concurrent players at the moment. Not only that, but this action RPG has climbed to become the 15th most-played game in Steam history. Its lifetime peak surpasses that of games like Valheim, Terraria, and Fallout 4, among others.

remarkably impressive, given the technical challenges at the game’s debut. Despite Grinding Gear Games anticipating a capacity for a million simultaneous players, early access redemptions surpassed that figure while sales persistently climbed. Jonathan Rogers, the game director, had predicted queues, but many found it impossible to log in when the game was first released.

Path of Exile 2 is available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC – check out our early access review. It will remain in early access for at least six months, though it could be longer. Grinding Gear Games will effectively double the content already available, adding 50 more bosses, three new Acts, six more Classes, etc. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months.
