As a die-hard Marvel fan with over two decades of comic book reading under my belt, I must say that these upcoming movies and shows are nothing short of breathtaking! With a background steeped in the rich history of the Marvel Universe, I can’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of excitement as we approach the Multiverse Saga.
Marvel Studios is embarking on a new chapter in their Multiverse Storyline. Beginning from 2021, the Marvel Universe has expanded into multiple dimensions, with Phases 4, 5, and 6 making up the Multiverse Saga. This saga will reach its climax in two Avengers films set for release in 2026 and 2027. The first of these movies, tentatively titled “Avengers: Doomsday” (originally known as “The Kang Dynasty”), will bring together Earth’s strongest heroes since the 2019 film “Avengers: Endgame”. The second movie, “Avengers: Secret Wars”, will see directors Anthony and Joe Russo collaborate once more with Robert Downey Jr., who will reprise his role as Doctor Doom in this installment. This final chapter is expected to connect many of Marvel’s films and TV series, such as Loki, What If…?, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and Deadpool & Wolverine.
In 2024, Marvel Studios will debut one film and four TV series on Disney+: Echo, X-Men ’97, Agatha All Along, and the final season of What If…?, which airs in December. However, the following year, 2025, they plan to nearly double their output with a total of nine projects, marking the most releases since the start of the Multiverse Saga in 2021.
Despite earlier statements by Disney CEO Bob Iger suggesting a decrease in Marvel Studios’ output, production delays due to writers and actors’ strikes have moved several projects to 2025 and canceled the “Blade” reboot.
Trailers for upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe content on Disney+ reveal that 2025 will feature live-action series like “Daredevil: Born Again,” “Ironheart,” and “Wonder Man,” as well as animated shows such as “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man,” “Black Panther” spinoff “Eyes of Wakanda,” and the mature-rated “Marvel Zombies” spinoff.
In terms of films, Anthony Mackie will reprise his role as Sam Wilson as the new Captain America in 2025, battling Harrison Ford’s Red Hulk. The “Thunderbolts” team, consisting of characters from “Black Widow,” “Ant-Man and the Wasp,” and more, will also assemble. Lastly, “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” introduces Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Marvel’s first family.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man
Although not belonging to Earth-616’s Sacred Timeline as depicted in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this series narrates an extraordinary journey of Peter Parker (played by Hudson Thames), transitioning into a hero. This voyage deviates from previous tales and embraces the character’s early comic book origins seen in The Amazing Spider-Man.
In a conversation with ComicBook, Brad Winderbaum, Marvel Studios’ streaming, television, and animation chief, described Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man as nothing short of extraordinary. He went on to say that the series closely resembles a slice from the iconic comic book era by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko.
Captain America: Brave New World
Following Steve Rogers’ retirement as Captain America and handover of the star-studded shield to Sam Wilson, known previously as the Falcon, in “Avengers: Endgame”, Sam soared for one last mission in the Disney+ series “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier”. This series saw Sam assume the mantle of Captain America from the government-backed soldier John Walker, who later transformed into U.S. Agent (reappearing this summer in “Thunderbolts”), and also introduced a new Falcon: Joaquín Torres.
In this movie, Captain America will uncover the motive behind a sinister worldwide scheme orchestrated by Samuel Sterns/the Leader (Tim Blake Nelson, reprising his role from 2008’s The Incredible Hulk), who manages to metamorphose the newly elected U.S. President Thaddeus Ross (Harrison Ford) into a destructive Red Hulk. The film features Shira Haas as Ruth Bat-Seraph, previously Black Widow, and Liv Tyler as Betty Ross, both making their comeback since The Incredible Hulk in 2008.
As a passionate cinephile, I’m eagerly anticipating the release of “The Cloverfield Paradox,” directed by none other than Julius Onah. This film boasts a captivating script penned by the talented duo Malcolm Spellman and Dalan Musson, who are known for their work on “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.” Additionally, Matthew Orton, the writer behind Marvel’s “Moon Knight,” has also contributed to this project. The movie is slated to hit theaters on a romantic date: February 14, 2025. Can’t wait to see it!
Daredevil: Born Again
A whole ten years after his debut in Marvel’s Daredevil back in 2015, and almost seven years following the cancellation of the Netflix series, it’s going to be quite a ruckus when Charlie Cox’s Man Without Fear resurfaces in Daredevil: Born Again. This upcoming Marvel Television series brings back Cox alongside Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, a reunion not seen since 2018. Additionally, it reunites Matt Murdock with his friends Foggy Nelson (played by Elden Henson) and Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll), as well as the vigilante Frank Castle/the Punisher (portrayed by Jon Bernthal).
Since the termination of Daredevil, Charlie Cox has made brief appearances in films like Spider-Man: No Way Home, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, and Echo, while Vincent D’Onofrio’s character, Fisk, has appeared as a supporting role in shows such as Hawkeye and Echo. Now, five years after the end of season 3, the Marvel Television series finds blind lawyer Matt Murdock (portrayed by Cox) working tirelessly at his law firm, while former mob boss Fisk vies to become the mayor of New York City. As their past lives re-emerge, they are destined to clash once more.
The series is helmed by Dario Scardapane, who has worked on Marvel’s The Punisher and Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan. Directors for the episodes include Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead (Loki season 2), Michael Cuesta (Homeland), Jeffrey Nachmanoff (Lovecraft Country), and David Boyd (The Walking Dead).

As a devoted cinema enthusiast, I’ve often found myself reflecting on the traditional notion of heroes versus villains. However, through my cinematic journey, I’ve come to understand: there are villains, and then there are more complex characters who may have started as villains but are far from the worst. This sentiment was beautifully expressed by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (portrayed by Julia Louis-Dreyfus), a character we’ve seen in ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’, ‘Black Widow’, and ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’.
Jake Schreier, who has previously worked on “Paper Towns” and “Beef”, is directing a movie based on a script co-written by Eric Pearson (known for “Thor: Ragnarok”, “Black Widow”, and “The Fantastic Four: First Steps”), Joanna Calo (“The Bear”) and Lee Sung Jin (“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”, “Beef”).

In the aftermath of the events portrayed in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” from 2022, a Ryan Coogler-supervised series unfolds where technology clashes with magic. The series follows Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne), a young and gifted inventor, who after receiving resources from Shuri (Letitia Wright) to enhance her armor – the vibranium-made Mark II, returns to her hometown of Chicago.

Following the storyline of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” Marvel’s “Ironheart” unfolds with Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne), a brilliant young inventor from Chicago, returning to her hometown. Her innovative approach to constructing iron suits is captivating, yet her aspirations lead her into the company of the enigmatic and charming Parker Robbins, also known as “The Hood” (Anthony Ramos). This series additionally features Lyric Ross, Alden Ehrenreich, Regan Aliyah, Manny Montana, Matthew Elam, and Anji White. Chinaka Hodge serves as the head writer, while episodes are directed by Sam Bailey and Angela Barnes. The executive producers include Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Zoie Nagelhout, Chinaka Hodge, Ryan Coogler, Sev Ohanian, and Zinzi Coogler. In essence, the plot revolves around technology clashing with magic in Ironheart’s story.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps
Drawing inspiration from the seminal Stan Lee and Jack Kirby comics that signaled the Marvel Comics Golden Age, The Fantastic Four: First Steps will kick off Phase 6. This upcoming movie, helmed by director Matt Shakman (WandaVision), is set in a visually striking world that blends the energy of the 1960s with a retro-futuristic aesthetic. The story introduces us to Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Joseph Quinn), and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as they confront their toughest challenge yet. Struggling to reconcile their heroic duties with the unbreakable ties of family, they must safeguard Earth from a ravenous celestial being known as Galactus (Ralph Ineson), and his mysterious emissary, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). But the situation takes a personal turn when Galactus threatens not only the planet but also everyone on it.
It’s additionally been disclosed that the Fantastic Four will make an appearance in “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Avengers: Secret Wars”. These films seem to be planning to move the quartet into the Mainstream Marvel Universe (Earth-616), often referred to as the Sacred Timeline.

However, the Hatut Zeraze have spent centuries safeguarding “Isipho” (its Xhosa name) from falling into the hands of Wakanda’s most dangerous adversaries.
Brad Winderbaum, producer, shared with ComicBook that ‘Eyes of Wakanda’ is an MCU television series. It delves into the history of Wakanda from the perspective of the War Dogs, and it’s some of our finest animation yet. Todd Harris is the mastermind behind this captivating production.
This animated series adopts a style reminiscent of “What If…?”. Marvel Zombies
The creative minds responsible for “What If…?” are gearing up to tackle the “Marvel Zombies” storyline. This four-episode event will carry a TV-MA rating due to its graphic depictions of violence, gore, and bloodshed. In season 1 of “What If…?”, an episode titled “What If… Zombies?” was inspired by the Marvel Zombies comic book, showcasing zombified versions of characters like Iron Man, Captain America, the Scarlet Witch, and other terrifyingly undead superheroes.
The upcoming “Marvel Zombies” production will boast the vocal talents of David Harbour as Red Guardian, Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, Awkwafina as Katy, Randall Park as Jimmy Woo, Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop/Hawkeye, Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams/Ironheart, Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova/Black Widow, and Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch.

Wonder Man
Actor Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, known for his roles in Aquaman and Watchmen on HBO, will be teaming up with fellow actor Trevor Slattery (portrayed by Ben Kingsley). In 2013’s Iron Man 3, Trevor Slattery pretended to be the terrorist known as “the Mandarin,” and later, he was kidnapped by the Ten Rings in the short film All Hail the King released in 2014.
Following his appearance in “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” in 2021, actor Slattery will reappear again in an upcoming live-action series from the director of the Shang-Chi film, Destin Daniel Cretton. As for the storyline, it’s currently being kept confidential.
In the series about the superhero-turned-actor powered by ionic energy, Abdul-Mateen II and Kingsley will be joined by a group of talented actors such as Ed Harris known for his role in ‘Westworld’, Demetrius Grosse from ‘Fear the Walking Dead’, Lauren Glazier from ‘Mindhunter’, Byron Bowers from ‘Swarm’, and Josh Gad who is famous for his work in ‘Frozen’.

Vision Quest
After the spinoff series “Agatha All Along,” centered around Agatha Harkness from “WandaVision,” comes another spinoff focusing on the revived and rebuilt White Vision, played by Paul Bettany. The series will be overseen by Terry Matalas, who was a co-creator of SYFY’s “12 Monkeys” television series and served as showrunner for seasons 2 and 3 of “Star Trek: Picard.
In the Iron Man and Avengers films, Bettany provided the voice for Tony Stark’s AI, J.A.R.V.I.S., which later transformed into the android known as Vision in 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron. Powered by the Mind Stone, Vision fought alongside Earth’s mightiest heroes until his demise at the hands of Thanos in 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War.
In a nod to the “Vision Quest” storyline from the 1980s’ “West Coast Avengers” comic series, the TV show “WandaVision” portrays elements of this narrative. The plot unfolds when Vision, a synthetic android, accessed global computer systems and took control of America’s nuclear arsenal, prompting international security agencies to form Vigilance, an alliance aimed at monitoring the android closely. Discovering that Vigilance scientists disassembled her robotic husband, the Scarlet Witch found they had wiped his memory to eliminate any potential threats from global security networks, leaving him as a blank slate with only white data. Desperate to restore Vision, the Avengers sought help from Hank Pym, Vision’s “grandfather.” However, they learned that Vigilance had deleted Vision’s backup memories on file. Eventually, Pym uploaded data tapes into the synthezoid’s memory, reprogramming him without the emotional connection to the information.

Avengers: Doomsday
In a new turn of events, Robert Downey Jr. reappears in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this time portraying Victor von Doom, the archnemesis of the Fantastic Four and at present, the Supreme Sorcerer in the Marvel Comics universe. Notably, he succeeds Kang the Conqueror, a multiverse villain who originated from the Loki series, with his variant being introduced in 2023’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
In the heart of Latveria, plotlines are sealed, yet both the 1984 ‘Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars’ and the 2015 ‘Secret Wars’ showcased Doctor Doom wielding immense cosmic power (more on that later).
The Russo Brothers, who helmed 2014’s ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’, 2016’s ‘Captain America: Civil War’, 2018’s ‘Avengers: Infinity War’, and 2019’s ‘Avengers: Endgame’, are coming back to direct ‘Avengers 5’, previously known as ‘Avengers: The Kang Dynasty’. Scriptwriter Stephen McFeely, who co-wrote all of the Russo-directed MCU films along with 2011’s ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’ and 2013’s ‘Thor: The Dark World’, is crafting the script.

Spider-Man 4
Sony Pictures, the company behind the distribution and co-production of the live-action Spider-Man films alongside Marvel Studios, plans to release Spider-Man 4 following Avengers: Doomsday. Similar to how Spider-Man: Far From Home was released shortly after Endgame and served as a conclusion for the Infinity Saga, there’s talk that the upcoming Spider-Man movie may draw from Doomsday and lead straight into Secret Wars.
Speculations suggest that the sequel to “Spider-Man: No Way Home” (2021) could bring back Peter Parker (Tom Holland), along with his counterparts from different universes, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, and introduce a new team-up. This time, it might be Spider-Man joining forces with Daredevil (Charlie Cox) to confront villains such as Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio) or Scorpion, who has been at odds with the web-slinger since “Spider-Man: Homecoming” (2017).
Some gossips imply that the upcoming film might feature Spider-Man battling Knull, a menacing character from across the multiverse, who was previously teased to reappear in the final installment of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, titled Venom: The Last Dance.
