Joan shared with TopMob News, as they both attended iHeartRadio’s Jingle Ball in Los Angeles on Dec 6th, that they believe they have discovered a suitable location. “We have an agent in New York who showed us a video of the apartment she toured, and it looks promising. Fingers crossed, we’re hoping everything is finalized.
Just as any couple might, they each had unique preferences for their shared living space. Chock yearned for an outdoor smoking area to enjoy cigars with companions, whereas Joan sought out a roomy wardrobe.
The 61-year-old went on to say, “I’d prefer there to be a patio upstairs, but if we stumble upon an exceptional location without one, then a spacious walk-in closet becomes more important to me.
Instead, Joan and Chock chose not to let their differences become irritants. On the topic of apartments, they’re optimistic that they’ve finally found a suitable fit for both.
The school administrator stated that the supply of available properties at this time is extremely limited. They’re cautiously optimistic about finding a suitable place, but they can only hope this is the right one. Remarkably, they stumbled upon this property quite recently. Three weeks ago, they had inspected 20 other places, and then suddenly, a property in SoHo popped up, which happens to be their desired location.
Ultimately, Joan and Chock want a place together for the right reasons.
As fortunate as I am to have my family always by my side, I can’t wait for some solo time, too. Having the entire city as my playground promises an incredible adventure!
However, sharing life with someone else often involves a learning process, as Chock discovered there was one thing he couldn’t keep from Joan for longer than a moment.
“I took her cell phone charger,” the 60-year-old told TopMob. “I’ll never do that again.”
Joan playfully pointed out, “It seems he’s well aware that it irritates me deeply. I can’t help but feel a pang of PTSD when reminiscing about my kids’ friends constantly taking my charger from the kitchen during those hectic growing-up years.
Joan mentioned that they haven’t set a date for their wedding yet. At the moment, they’re enjoying being together without the pressure of constant scrutiny and just taking time to be themselves. She estimates it might be about a year before they decide to tie the knot.
Earlier, as Chock shared with TopMob News, Joan confided in him about her aspirations of living in New York during their time on “The Golden Bachelorette” show. In fact, before proposing, he presented her with a “Chock lock” – that’s shorthand for a heart-shaped keychain lock – as a token of his dedication to crafting this new life together.
The insurance executive from Kansas expressed his enthusiasm in November, stating, “We can’t wait!” He added, “I believe it will be quite entertaining to see Joan manage everything – from choosing the furnishings to deciding where we will live. Our compatibility is so great that I feel like saying, ‘It’s all yours. It was my gift to you. Choose whatever you desire.’
