As I delve into the lives of these illustrious personalities who graced our television screens during my childhood, I find myself reminiscing about simpler times when Nickelodeon was the pinnacle of entertainment.
Hug me, brotha! Drake Bell is all for a Drake & Josh reboot.
A former star on Nickelodeon, known for acting alongside Josh Peck, aged 38, in a popular TV series from the mid-2000s, is considering bringing back the show after giving it some careful consideration.
On the December 10th episode of the Behind the Velvet Rope podcast, Drake expressed his deep affection for the show “Drake & Josh” and shared his desire to revisit the character. He mentioned that he would be thrilled to collaborate with Josh again, whether it’s through a reboot or something similar to “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” where they could portray themselves while navigating modern life.
With Larry David serving as his muse, the 38-year-old has already conceptualized plans for the progression of Drake Parker’s and Josh Nichols’ characters.
He was contemplating the possibility that he might be trying to reconcile with him, only for the man to respond with something like, “Look, you’re being a nuisance, leave me alone.” As for the future, he dreams of collaborating with Josh on a project reminiscent of shows like ‘Entourage’ or ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm.’
Additionally, Drake, who appeared on The Masked Singer not too long ago, also mentioned the possibility of inviting some of the show’s cast members to return and repeat their quirky roles.
Speaking as a lifestyle enthusiast, I find myself yearning for the return of the vibrant crew from our favorite show. Namely, Crazy Steve, Helen, Craig, Eric, Audrey, Walter, and Megan – portrayed by Jerry Trainor, Yvette Nicole Brown, Alec Medlock, Scott Halberstadt, Nancy Sullivan, Jonathan Goldstein, and Miranda Cosgrove respectively. I believe it would be an absolute blast to see them all back together again!
Regarding the actress who played his on-screen sibling, now famously known for her role in the iCarly revival on Paramount+, she remains open to different possibilities.
Miranda mentioned to TopMob News that it could be possible,” she said when asked about a potential reboot at the 2023 Kids’ Choice Awards. “With everything being revived these days, there’s not much that seems out of reach.
It’s not a new concept; in fact, the cast has proposed extending their characters’ stories before. Back in 2019, Drake suggested he and his co-star were developing a script for it, but later admitted that project was scrapped. Interestingly, Drake and his then-spouse, Janet Von Schmeling, openly discussed the creative disagreements that ultimately halted what they referred to as “Josh & Drake.
In the 2022 episode of her podcast, Drake & Janet, Janet expressed her dissatisfaction with the script, stating, “The script wasn’t great. Josh portrayed Drake as a struggling musician and himself as a real estate agent. While I understand that’s how they were written, it didn’t align with reality since Drake is actually a musician.
But in the end, they just couldn’t find a way.
Drake mentioned that he had suggested a few adjustments, but the person wasn’t able to make them. Furthermore, his wife refused to allow him to handle it himself,” or alternatively, “Drake stated that he requested some modifications, which the other person couldn’t fulfill, and his wife forbade him from doing it.
Meanwhile, Drake is working on adjusting his reboot concepts, let’s continue and explore what some of your beloved Nickelodeon stars are up to these days…
From 1994 to 1998, Larisa became famous for playing the coolest character who could transform into gelatin on television. Later, she starred in movies like “10 Things I Hate About You,” “100 Girls,” and “Atlas Shrugged: Part II.” She also appeared on shows such as “Hawaii Five-0,” “Pretty Little Liars,” and “Mad Men.” This year, she made appearances in two episodes of Netflix’s “Trinkets.” Her latest role is in the upcoming single-camera family comedy “The Healing Powers of Dude” for a streaming service.
Following a four-season stint playing the main character from 1996-1998, Irene decided to put her acting career on hold and instead pursued a university education at Harvard. Born in Malaysia, she later worked as a senior financial advisor for international clients at Merrill Lynch in Manhattan until 2006. In 2009, she established the Mencius Mandarin Preschool, which provides bilingual education in English and Mandarin for young children. She is still married to David Rosa, whom she wed in 2008, and continues to teach at this preschool.
Born as one of the original hosts for a Nick game show from 1990-1992, the younger sibling of Cuba Gooding Jr., has continued to build a successful acting career. He’s been featured in shows such as “Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper”, “Smart Guy” and “Miami Medical”. Since 2012, he’s been starring in the Bounce TV comedy “Family Time”, which is set to air its seventh season on October 9, 2019.
Initially rising to fame as protagonists in one of Nickelodeon’s pioneering live-action comedies, which was spun off from a collection of well-liked interstitial skits, Michael and Danny portrayed identical brothers for three seasons between 1993 and 1996. Afterward, Michael took a break from acting until 2004 when he transitioned into the role of an electrician for film and television productions filmed in New York. In contrast, Danny continued his acting career by joining the cast of All That, serving as a panelist on Figure It Out, and lending his voice to the animated series Fillmore! from 2002 to 2004. Since then, they’ve been co-hosting the podcast The Adventure of Danny and Mike since 2013.
Following the conclusion of Kenan & Kel in 2000, the previous star of All That shifted his focus to voice acting, appearing in shows such as Clifford the Big Red Dog, Pink Panther & Pals, and Robot Chicken. He also made appearances on Nickelodeon shows like Henry Danger, Sam & Cat, and Game Shakers. In 2019, he and his former co-star Kenan Thompson served as executive producers for the reboot of All That, where he has appeared three times so far. This season, he started competing in the 28th season of Dancing With the Stars and is still a contender at this point. He tied the knot with rapper Asia Lee, his second spouse, in 2012 and became a father to a daughter in 2017.
Following the wrap-up of her TV series “Sam & Cat” in 2014, Jeanette moved on to appear in the Canadian show “Between,” which was available on Netflix in the U.S. for two seasons. Even though the show never officially got cancelled, no updates have been shared since August 2016. Since then, she’s created and directed a few short films and most recently starred in the 2018 film “Little Bitches,” which was released on video-on-demand. Earlier this year, she publicly shared her battles with an eating disorder in a heartfelt article for Huffington Post, and in late September, she announced her intentions to launch a podcast focusing on eating disorder recovery.
Following my stint on “Drake & Josh,” I’ve had the privilege to grace the big screen in films like “The Wackness,” “Red Dawn,” and “The Wedding Ringer.” I also starred in Fox’s short-lived 2016 comedy, “Grandfathered,” and lent my voice to series such as “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” “Trolls: The Beat Goes On!”, and “Lego Star Wars: All-Stars.” As the host of podcast Curious with Josh Peck, I tied the knot with my long-term sweetheart, Paige O’Brien, in June 2017, and we welcomed our son, Max, into the world in December 2018.
Following his success as a performer on “The Amanda Show”, Drake later starred alongside Josh Peck in the show “Drake & Josh”, which spanned four seasons from 2004 to 2007. Since then, he’s kept up a steady career in music, with his latest EP coming out in 2017. He’s also lent his voice to series such as “Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H.” and “Ultimate Spider-Man”, and isn’t shy about showing off his impressive abs.
Following her debut as Megan Parker on Nickelodeon’s Drake & Josh, Miranda became the star of her own show, iCarly, in 2007. This series ran for six seasons until 2012. Since then, she has maintained a lower public profile but has continued to lend her voice to the Despicable Me franchise and appeared in sitcom pilot projects that didn’t make it past their first season or failed to get off the ground entirely, such as the 2016 series Crowded. It is not known if she has completed her studies at USC. She will next appear in the upcoming indie sci-fi film 3022, set for release later in 2019.
Following her groundbreaking performance on “Zoey 101” that led to a four-season stint as Tori Vega in “Victorious” from 2010 to 2013, Victoria then starred in the short-lived MTV series “Eye Candy” in 2015 and Fox’s adaptation of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” in 2016. Lately, she has made recurring appearances on a Facebook Watch series titled “Queen America”, guest-starred on “American Housewife”, and featured in the 2019 independent film “Summer Night”. As a regular at New York Fashion Week, she was prominently present at several shows last September.
