OMEGA 6: The Triangle Stars launches February 28, 2025 in the west

As an old-school gamer who’s seen the evolution of gaming from 8-bit to 16-bit and beyond, I must say, the upcoming release of OMEGA 6: The Triangle Stars has me more than just a little excited! The retro-futuristic art style, the intergalactic adventure, and the card-based battles – it’s like a nostalgic dream come true.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be diving into an exciting 16-bit retro-futuristic journey titled “OMEGA 6: The Triangle Stars” starting February 28, 2025! This action-packed adventure will be available on both Switch and Steam. Clear River Games, partnered with City Connection (Japan) and developers Happymeal and Pleocene, are bringing this gem to the western gaming scene!

Under the creative direction of ex-Nintendo art director and current manga artist Takaya Imamura, along with developers Happymeal from the Retro Mystery Club series, emerges a 16-bit styled game set in a retro-future adventure world blended with RPG elements: OMEGA 6: The Triangle Stars.

Story

Earth, somewhere in the distant future.

Due to a technology that increases the typical human lifespan to approximately 400 years, people live quite comfortably, even though there are social challenges that come with an older population.

One unexpected day, a wormhole materialized abruptly close to Mars. This anomaly brought a surge of extraterrestrial beings to Earth, and it wasn’t long before the alien population overtook our major cities without most people even noticing.

Dr. Victor Franklin, renowned expert in longevity research, becomes worried about the current state of affairs and starts looking for a second Earth. His intention is to provide a new home for humanity so they can flourish again once they’ve settled there. To aid in this quest, he designs two humanoid robots, named Thunder and Kyra, and sends them off on their mission aboard the Omega 6 spacecraft.

And thus began Thunder and Kyla’s long and extraordinary adventures.

Over 100 Aliens! an Adventure Combo-meal of Mystery and Drama! – During your treasure hunt, unexpected encounters await at every turn via random events. You can explore freely while working as a bounty hunter, delivery person, or just shopping for items: how to play is up to you. For the completionists, there’s a gallery to record all the intergalactic rogues you meet, sub-missions, and training where you can battle powerful opponents! Contrary to its name, space is very full!
Battle Rival Treasure Hunters and a Plethora of Aliens in Card-Based Battles! – Treasure attracts trouble, leading to card-based battles with anyone from rival treasure hunters to unknown aliens lurking about. With a set number of cards in your hand, read through your opponent’s strategy and forge a path to absolute victory! Inside your spaceship is a bonsai that bears fruits. Use them to boost your abilities or switch your opponent’s hand with yours. This bonsai also bears Magic Fruits, which will hold tremendous powers, but use them at your own risk!
