As I delve into the rich tapestry of friendships that have spanned over two decades, I can’t help but marvel at the extraordinary bond shared by the cast of Friends. From their on-screen camaraderie to their off-screen collaborations, they’ve proven time and again that friendship knows no bounds.
It’s the one where the cast of Friends try to nail down time for dinner.
It was disclosed that Lisa Kudrow, along with her fellow cast members from the popular ’90s sitcom – David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, Matt LeBlanc, and the late Matthew Perry – only managed to reunite once in the time span between the show’s 2004 conclusion and the 2021 reunion special titled Friends: the Reunion.
Indeed, one reason the “The Comeback” actress enjoyed herself so much was because she was thrilled to be part of the HBO special commemorating the show’s 25-year milestone.
Lisa remarked that the reunion was fantastic, during her interview on Jessie Tyler Ferguson’s Dinner On Me podcast on December 10th. She mentioned that they, being the six of them, had shared a meal together just once since the show concluded prior to that occasion.
Additionally, the 61-year-old acknowledged that their reunion transpired a decade following the end of Friends, but they also expressed that it seemed as though no time had elapsed since then.
Lisa remembered it as if the conversation flowed effortlessly, as if there were no interruptions – much like picking up where we left off at someone’s home over dinner.
Absolutely, just because they didn’t all get together as a group doesn’t necessarily mean they never saw each other. For instance, Courteney celebrated her birthday with Lisa and Jennifer in 2019. Furthermore, last year, Lisa and Jennifer delivered a joint speech at the unveiling of Courteney’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star for her role in “Scream”.
Jennifer expressed her gratitude during the speech, saying, “It’s an honor for us to represent you today, as colleagues, friends, family, and even sisters. We’ve had the pleasure of knowing you for a considerable length of time.
If the three ladies can’t meet in person, they also stay connected through virtual meetings.
During her chat with Quinta Brunson as part of the 2023 Variety Actors on Actors series, Jennifer shared that “We truly recognize each other. Last night, I spoke with Court for an hour over FaceTime, and also caught up with Lisa and the kids. It’s a bond that feels like family, forever.
Despite the unfortunate passing of Matthew in October 2023, the warm bond among the Friends alums endured and grew stronger. Together, they released a heartfelt joint statement in honor of their beloved colleague.
At that point, they expressed their deep sorrow over the passing of Matthew, stating, “We aren’t merely co-stars; we are one another’s family.
