As a seasoned Pokémon Go player, hailing from the frozen tundra of Alaska, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming Holiday Part 2 event! The prospect of catching Shiny Cetoddle and its evolved form, Cetitan, donning their holiday best is enough to melt even the thickest Arctic ice.
The first part of the Pokemon Go Holiday Event is yet to begin, but Niantic has given us a sneak peek into what’s coming next. Part 2 kicks off on December 22nd at 10 am and runs until December 27th at 8 pm local time. Similar to the first part, this event will introduce new costumed Pokemon and a fresh Shiny. In the second half of the event, players can encounter Wooloo dressed in holiday outfits in the wild. However, to get Dubwool wearing holiday attire, you’ll need to evolve your Wooloo during the event.
Apart from the freshly costumed Pokemon, gamers can also anticipate the introduction of brand-new Shiny Pokemon within the game. Specifically, Shiny Cetoddle and its evolved form, Cetitan, are joining the fun! The Shiny variant of Cetoddle features a dark gray color scheme instead of the usual white, with the pink accents changed to orange. This color pattern persists in the Shiny version of Cetitan, replacing the original white with black and keeping the pink accents as orange. There’s a slight difference, though – the light gray that typically appears on Cetitan’s underside and front horns is still present but stands out less against the added black.
During the second part of the holiday season, several new items for your avatar will become available. In the Pokemon Go store, you’ll find brand-new sweaters modeled after Marshtomp and Staryu for purchase. At the moment, the prices for these items haven’t been disclosed yet. Furthermore, there’s a Timed Research option that costs $5, offering rewards such as Incense, a Glacial Lure Module, and encounters with Wooloo dressed in holiday outfits. The most exciting aspect of this Timed Research is the Wooloo Jacket avatar item! Remember, though, this Timed Research will expire at the end of Holiday Part 2, so be sure to consider that before making a purchase.
During this special occasion, participants can anticipate various in-game rewards. Catching Pokemon will grant double Experience Points, and there will be an extra 50% XP from Raid Battles. Moreover, the event will feature themed Field Research tasks, collection challenges, and PokeStop highlights. Beginning on Christmas Day, Pokemon Go will initiate the 12 Days of Daily Adventure Incense. From December 25th to Sunday, January 5th at 8 p.m. local time, players can enjoy Daily Adventure Incense lasting for 30 minutes instead of the regular 15. Although it remains uncertain how many players will brave the winter weather, this extended incense duration serves as a compelling attraction for those in warmer regions and adventurers who don’t mind exploring in a snowy landscape!
