As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must say that Sloclap has always managed to surprise me with their innovative takes on gaming genres. From the intricate combat mechanics of Absolver to the masterful blend of martial arts and narrative in Sifu, they’ve consistently shown a knack for creating immersive experiences that leave us craving more.
Sloclap, known for creating two highly acclaimed indie games like Absolver and especially Sifu, a fan favorite, continues to showcase its talent for innovation with its upcoming third project. At The Game Awards’ pre-show (now called the Opening Act), Sloclap surprised everyone by revealing a new game titled Rematch. However, it’s not what many might have anticipated.
In simpler terms, “Rematch” is a multiplayer soccer game where players engage in 5 versus 5 matches. The developers describe it as offering immersive third-person action, skill-based gameplay, and fierce online competition. Visually, the game’s art style resembles that of the popular game “Sifu”. On the field, the game seems to blend football strategies with arcade-style action. You can watch the reveal trailer below.
The game titled “Rematch” is expected to be released in the year 2025, available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and personal computers. However, the exact launch date has yet to be announced.
