The Outer Worlds 2 Launches in 2025 for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC

As a seasoned gamer with decades of intergalactic travels under my belt, I must say, the announcement of The Outer Worlds 2 has me more excited than a space-captain finding a fully stocked bar on an abandoned spaceship! The fact that it’s bigger, funnier, and jam-packed with more weapons than its predecessor is music to my star-faring ears.

In 2021, Obsidian Entertainment and Microsoft officially unveiled “The Outer Worlds 2”. Since then, we’ve had no updates until The Game Awards, where a new trailer showcased gameplay footage for the highly-anticipated first-person sci-fi RPG sequel. You can watch it below.

Showcasing a similar witty style as “The Outer Worlds,” the trailer reveals that “The Outer Worlds 2” has taken almost three times longer to create than the initial game. However, it promises to be double the size of its original counterpart, offering more weapons, action, and numerous visual and technical improvements.

It’s worth noting that both Obsidian and Microsoft have announced that the game “The Outer Worlds 2” will be released on multiple platforms simultaneously, including PS5. This puts it in the company of games like “DOOM: The Dark Ages” and “Call of Duty: Black Ops 6”, which are first-party Microsoft titles that debut on multiple systems.

The sequel to The Outer Worlds, titled The Outer Worlds 2, is scheduled for release in 2025. This game will be playable on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. Meanwhile, another role-playing game developed by Obsidian Entertainment, named Avowed, is set to debut in February.
