How to Defeat Jamanra the Abomination

During the initial stage of the battle against Jamanra, the Abomination, the tactics are quite simple. Essentially, try to dodge his melee attacks and lightning abilities as often as possible. Typically, staying behind him will help you avoid these attacks effectively.

When you see him launching those tiny columns in the arena, make sure to move quickly to avoid them since they’ll begin to glow and explode, causing damage to the surrounding area after a short while.

Sometimes, additional sets of these will appear, orbiting the battlefield and creating a barrier of electrical energy. It’s advisable to steer clear of them as they shift positions. If you have a character built for ranged attacks, you should be able to maintain offensive maneuvers while dodging.

What might surprise players is the whirlwind assault, during which the enemy unleashes. In response, your helpful NPC ally creates a protective shield or barrier somewhere in the battlefield.

As a gamer, all I gotta do here is position myself strategically behind the obstacle, that way I can dodge any incoming damage. Remember, Jamanra will summon minions during this phase, so keep your guard up and try to take him down whenever an opportunity arises.

Jamanra, the Abomination – Second Phase

Following a significant portion of the total battle damage, the combat will shift into the second phase in another fighting ground. Throughout this encounter, whirlwinds are likely to show up intermittently, and it’s crucial to dodge them continuously during the entire battle.

In his fundamental moves, he summons either a sword or a halberd. A sword attack aims straight downward, whereas a halberd attack is a wide horizontal sweep. Make sure to dodge in advance since both have a noticeable wind-up before they strike.

Sometimes, he may create stationary columns with lightning arcing between them, similar to the initial stage but they do not shift positions. Just make sure to steer clear of these whenever they materialize.

His actions are generally simple to follow, but they may become quite intense. As the battle unfolds, keep an eye out for additional elements he might introduce into the arena, including the following:

  • He can spawn two portals facing different ways, and these will constantly fire projectiles at that direction. This will continue until they disappear on their own.
  • Lines will form from the sky, and lightning will strike down shortly after this.
  • He will occasionally conjure up daggers above his head before shooting them at you. This is heavily telegraphed, so just stay mobile to avoid getting hit.
  • He can spawn balls of lightning that will slowly move across the arena.

The battle is protracted because the bosses in this game are quite resilient, so your best bet is to endure and wait for him to switch attacks.

As soon as a portal emerges, make a beeline for the area with the greatest open space within the arena. A second portal is likely to follow shortly, and having these two portals close together can momentarily restrict certain parts of the arena. By positioning yourself in the roomiest section, you’ll have more maneuverability to dodge his tornadoes and other attacks.

Instead, primarily concentrate on evading his assaults and disregard his health meter. Rest assured, once he’s down to zero hit points, all active attacks will automatically dissipate. Therefore, strive to remain vigilant and avoid any narrow passages that his portals and lightning barriers might trap you in, until you can gradually reduce him to nothing!
