As a seasoned Pokémon TCG player with decades of trading cards under my belt, I must say that the Holiday Countdown Campaign in Pokémon TCG Pocket has me jumping for joy! The opportunity to collect 36 Pack Hourglasses over three days is simply too good to pass up. It’s like finding a rare Charizard card hidden in the back of my grandmother’s closet – pure, unadulterated excitement!
Starting next week, the Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket is launching an exciting event called the Holiday Countdown Campaign, spanning over 3 days. During this period, The Pokemon Company will reward all players with 12 Pack Hourglasses simply by logging in each day. In essence, players can collect up to 36 Pack Hourglasses, enabling them to open packs at an accelerated pace. Given that many players have been stockpiling Pack Hourglasses recently, this development is certainly something to look forward to!
In the latest update for the Pokemon TCG Pocket game, it just so happens that it aligns with the launch of new themed Booster Packs called Mythical Island. Unlike the Genetic Apex Boosters showcasing Pikachu, Charizard, and Mewtwo, the Mythical Island packs will highlight an image of Mew. Of course, the real excitement lies within what’s inside these packs, as players can anticipate a plethora of new cards. Some of these cards will offer fresh perspectives on Pokemon previously found in Genetic Apex, while we can also expect some brand-new additions to the game, such as Marshadow, Snivy, and Dhelmise. As already announced by The Pokemon Company, the Mythical Island packs will be accessible starting December 17th, marking the beginning of their Holiday Countdown Campaign.
What’s beautiful about this event is that it’s going to make it so much easier for Pokemon TCG Pocket players to obtain the new Mythical Island cards. Of course, players can use these Pack Hourglasses on anything they want; The Pokemon Company has specifically said that the current packs won’t be going anywhere, so players can keep using them on Genetic Apex, should they so choose. It stands to reason that most players probably haven’t gotten every card in Genetic Apex just yet, so that’s a very good thing. Unsurprisingly, reception to the Holiday Campaign Countdown has been very positive, with a number of Pokemon fans thanking the developers for the timing of this event.
As a devoted fan, I’ve been eagerly awaiting new additions to my Pokémon TCG Pocket collection ever since its launch at the end of October. Over the past six weeks or so, we’ve enjoyed various in-game events that have introduced promo cards, but this is our first glimpse of a themed booster pack since the game’s debut. At present, it remains uncertain how often we can anticipate new card arrivals, but I certainly hope for a consistent flow of content to keep us engaged. With over 60 million downloads since launch, Pokémon TCG Pocket has already captured the hearts of many, so it seems reasonable to expect regular updates in the coming months.
