As a seasoned movie critic who has witnessed the rise and fall of many a dancing star, I must say that Chris McCausland’s victory in Strictly Come Dancing 2024 was a breath of fresh air. Having been cynical about the competition for years, I found myself pleasantly surprised by the comedian’s tenacity and charm on the dancefloor.
After 13 sparkling weeks filled with fake tans and Craig Revel Horwood’s characteristic remarks, Chris McCausland emerged victorious as the champion of Strictly Come Dancing 2024.
In the grand finale, comedian [Name] along with his dance partner Dianne Buswell were joined by JB Gill and Lauren Oakley, Sarah Hadland and Vito Coppola, as well as Tasha Ghouri and Aljaž Škorjanec. Each of these pairs showcased their finest dancing skills in hopes of winning the coveted glitter ball trophy.
But the public had the final say, with Chris and Dianne coming out on top.
Upon their victory, Chris exclaimed: “I’m amazed, I’m at a loss for words. Frankly, I believed I might be eliminated in the first week, though I know nobody gets eliminated that soon, but honestly, I did think so.
“But we just lasted and lasted.”
He went on to praise Dianne, saying that she “deserves this so much”.
“This is for her, and this is for everyone else out there who’s been told they can’t do something.”
Chris emulates the path taken by previous Coronation Street actress Ellie Leach, who won the title the preceding year alongside her dance partner Vito. Previous victors in this competition include Rose Ayling-Ellis, Ore Oduba, Alesha Dixon, and Jill Halfpenny.
This year saw another medley of stars from the worlds of entertainment and sport take part in the dance competition’s 22nd season, including Jamie Borthwick, Toyah Willcox, Montell Douglas and Paul Merson.
Every week, I find myself determined to captivate judges Craig Revel Horwood, Shirley Ballas, Anton Du Beke, and Motsi Mabuse, all while hoping to win over the audience’s favor.
Co-host Tess Daly stated, “This show has brought a lot of happiness, and there have been some touching moments. Yet, what stands out the most is the exceptional dancing.
It’s been a delight discovering more about these famous figures, and I appreciate how they’ve infused their unique personalities into the dance routines.
Judge Ballas commented, “The entire 2024 season of Strictly has been truly extraordinary. It’s been a privilege to witness such a fantastic spectacle, undoubtedly the finest show on TV.
“The performers have been exceptional, and their dancing skills are outstanding. Working alongside the other judges has been enjoyable, and it’s been a pleasure to join in the excitement. All in all, it’s been an amazing experience.
