During the third quarter of their matchup with the Houston Texans on December 15, the player was involved in a helmet-to-helmet collision with Calen Bullock, a Houston safety.
23-year-old DuBose was first tended to at the scene. They removed his facemask from his helmet and sliced through his jersey. Afterward, they placed him on a stretcher, secured with straps for arms, legs, and neck brace, as reported by several sources.
According to the Dolphins, Grant DuBose will not play due to a head injury. He’s currently in a stable state and being transferred to a nearby hospital for more tests.
As DuBose received treatment on the field, his teammates congregated nearby, forming a circle for a moment of shared prayer.

He admitted at the press conference that he is his own harshest judge when it comes to ball positioning and deciding where to take the ball. He expressed regret for putting someone in a situation where they got hit by the ball. It was hard for him to move past that incident. However, he recently heard some positive news: the person is recovering well.
Tagovailoa, who had experienced three diagnosed concussions over the past two years, including one during an NFL game in September, stated, “I’ve been through something quite comparable, and it’s definitely not enjoyable. No one wants to find themselves in such situations, but you also realize that this is a sport where physical contact is involved.
He added, “I just think of what I could have done to have not put Grant in that situation.”
Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud also expressed support for Dubose.
In a post-match interview with CBS Sports, he expressed, “I’d like to extend my prayers to Grant at this moment. It seems he’s going through a difficult time. I sincerely hope he’s alright. My wishes are for his swift recovery so he can get back on the field.
