Rowan Atkinson returns to Netflix for Man vs Baby

As a devoted fan of Rowan Atkinson‘s comedic genius, I couldn’t help but feel a surge of excitement when I heard that Man vs Baby is back for another round! After the hilarious antics of Trevor Bingley versus the bee in Man vs Bee season 1, I can only imagine what chaos will ensue when he faces off against an infant in a luxurious London penthouse.

Netflix recently shared that they are producing a new comedy series titled “Man vs Baby,” starring Rowan Atkinson. This upcoming show will serve as a follow-up to his 2022 series, “Man vs Bee.

An earlier production cleverly employed Atkinson’s renowned talent for physical humor to spin the absurd tale of Trevor Bingley, a house-sitter whose rivalry with a rogue bee leads to the destruction of a mansion.

During the second season, Trevor encounters a surprising adversary – a baby. His new environment is a lavish London penthouse, an opulent space that will likely bear little resemblance to its original form once he has left.

To mark the beginning of filming, the streaming platform shared a few eerily suggestive photos of Atkinson blended into scenes from well-known Netflix productions that include infants as characters.

Up above, you’ll notice that Atkinson’s visage has been superimposed onto Richard Armitage’s within a sequence from the popular crime thriller “Fool Me Once” by Harlan Coben. Alongside him in this scene is Michelle Keegan.

In this scenario, he assumes the role previously played by Gillian Anderson as Jean Milburn in a Sex Education season 4 scene. Notably, the streaming platform’s recent adaptations such as One Day and, surprisingly, the Chicken Run sequel titled Dawn of the Nugget, also receive the Man vs Baby makeover.

Season 1 of Man vs Bee also included guest spots by Jing Lusi, known for her role in Red Eye, Tom Basden who has acted in Here We Go and After Life, as well as Greg McHugh from Fresh Meat, along with several other notable actors.

As of now, no matchup for “Man vs Baby” has been officially revealed, but the upcoming season will feature four half-hour episodes. This is a change from the previous season’s format, which had shorter, inconsistent episode lengths ranging between 10 and 25 minutes.

At this point in time, I haven’t come across any announcement about when Man vs Baby will air, however, production on the series is underway which suggests that it might make its debut some time in the upcoming year.
