Pregnant Kristen Doute recently suffered a health scare.
As a devoted admirer, I share the story from the perspective of the radiant star known as “The Valley.” Recently, she and her fiancé, Luke Broderick, were overjoyed to learn they were expecting a baby girl. However, an unexpected incident occurred when she experienced heavy bleeding, which she described as a “threatened miscarriage.
On their recent podcast episode dated December 13th, she shared an unpleasant incident that occurred over the weekend. She wanted to discuss it concisely, but felt it was crucial due to its potential impact on other women. She’s spoken about similar experiences online and with a few friends, which helped her get through this ordeal.
The 41-year-old explained, “I started bleeding really heavily, and it was out of nowhere. We were just on the couch, I wasn’t doing anything crazy. And I just panicked.”
Following her physician’s recommendation, the couple cruised through town visiting three distinct emergency departments, as Kristen fretted over the state of her health and her unborn child during this time.
The former Vanderpump Rules star shared, “I’m still bleeding, and that’s the unsettling part.” She continued, “I don’t understand what this means because I’m in a state of high anxiety, wondering things like ‘How much have I already lost? How much more blood will I keep losing? Is this going to continue? Will it never stop?’
She added, “There’s crazy thoughts that go through your head.”
In the end, Kristen successfully received the necessary medical attention, which she acknowledged as a positive outcome. However, the pair are still left in the dark about exactly what transpired.
To clarify, they were informed about the source of the bleeding and also confirmed that their child was in good health.
Kristen explained tearfully, “It appears my placenta changed position, which meant all the blood was mine, not the baby’s. On the ultrasound, we could see our baby, hear her heartbeat. The technician was wonderful at helping us feel reassured and calm during this difficult time.
She went on, “She was moving in there—moving and shaking—like nothing was wrong.”
For the long-term reality TV personality, simply saying “that was enough” conveyed a sense of assurance to her, implying she felt confident that things would turn out all right.
Kristen expressed to her audience, “I don’t mind if I’m injured; what matters most is her safety. It was frightening when we returned home, knowing we had to cope with this situation on our own for a while. The days to come were Saturday and Sunday, with no doctor’s appointment available. We could only cross our fingers and hope that the ultrasound results showed she was healthy and would continue to be so.
Since Kristen couldn’t visit her OBGYN following emergency treatment, she received documents stating she had a “potential miscarriage,” which she found distressing, considering she’d already seen an ultrasound confirming that her baby was perfectly healthy.
The founder of James Mae, expressing a sense of great alarm, confessed that she had never before felt the need to pray as intensely as she did during this experience. She even sought comfort from two of her colleagues in the industry, fellow cast members from “The Valley”, for spiritual solace.
She pondered over it and felt certain that both God and Luke had helped her through that difficult situation. In the heat of the moment, she reached out to Nia Sanchez and Danny Booko – this is something she hadn’t shared with you before. As soon as they got into the car, she sent a message to Nia asking them to pray for them.
Ultimately, they weren’t isolated in their situation, as they discovered that many women encountering a phase of pregnancy like Kristen’s often face something analogous, bringing them comfort and relief.
Luke mentioned that this incident – typically occurring at the end of the first trimester and beginning of the second – is the most frequent occurrence. He added that if a pregnancy is going to progress healthily, there might be significant bleeding during this time, but it wouldn’t harm the baby in any way.
In September, Kristen and Luke became engaged, and recently, they shared the exciting news that they are anticipating their first baby together.
She shared with People magazine that she felt a mix of relief, joy, excitement, happiness, and nervousness upon learning she was pregnant. Upon hearing the news, Luke wasn’t taken aback but was incredibly happy that the Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) worked on their first try (they were prepared for it not to). To put it simply, he was overjoyed and extremely excited, as you might imagine!

A significant portion of the initial season of Vanderpump Rules, which premiered in 2013, revolved around the turmoil caused by Jax’s infidelity with Stassi in Las Vegas. Following a liaison with fellow cast member Kristen Doute in season two, their relationship ultimately ended for good.

After his split with Kristen Doute, Tom started dating Ariana when she joined the show during filming season three in 2013. Over the course of nine years, they became one of “VPR”‘s most consistent couples, purchasing a home, adopting dogs, and even co-authored a cocktail book together.
Surprisingly, despite the reputation for being stable, a seven-month affair between the co-owner of TomTom and one of their co-stars was exposed in March 2023, causing a split with Ariana, leaving fans in shock.
After the cheating incident became public knowledge, Tom has attributed a decline in intimacy as one factor that led to their growing distance. In total, they were together for twelve years before Katie initiated divorce proceedings against TomTom’s co-owner in March 2022.
Originally maintaining a friendly dynamic post-breakup, Tom’s kiss with Raquel in August 2022 shattered any hopes of continued amity between them. On season 10 of VPR, Katie started seeing 26-year-old actor Satchel Clendenin as a romantic interest, although the relationship is now over.
