Lethal Company monsters: All creatures & how to defeat them

As a seasoned survivor of Lethal Company, I can tell you that the game is teeming with all sorts of creatures that will either help or hinder your progress. Some are friendly, like the Spore Lizard and Manticoil, while others are downright hostile, such as the Kidnapper Fox and Thumper.

Working together on projects might lead to encountering some unusual creatures, with some being more challenging than others.

As a passionate film enthusiast, I can’t help but draw a parallel with my love for horror movies. In this gaming universe, there are over 20 terrifying creatures lurking in every corner after each update, ready to strike down me and my comrades, the contractors. The suspense of not knowing which monster is waiting just around the bend never ceases to thrill and chill!

You’ll want to know how to beat them.

To get you prepared for anything that turns up, we’ve collated all of the possible monsters that might appear in Lethal Company – including how to defeat each one. Head below for all the details.

24 different monsters are presently featured within the game Lethal Company. If you’d like a more visually-oriented explanation, DrybearGamers has created a helpful video that covers many of them.

For those who like a written format, here’s an organized list of the 24 creatures, arranged alphabetically, along with suggestions on how to defeat them. And remember, if things get really tough, there’s always the handy shovel to fall back on.

Baboon Hawk

A creature resembling a hawk in beak shape tends to become more hostile with an increase in their numbers. The strategy to overcome the Hawk-Baboon is by staying united and avoiding solo confrontations. Keep in mind that just a handful of attacks can bring them down.

Barber

In the enclosed space, there appears something eerie that attacks you with massive scissors. However, you can’t eliminate a Barber, but you can momentarily incapacitate them instead.

Bracken (Flower Man)

The Bracken is a red humanoid with spikes that is very deadly. It’s super quick, super stealthy and will try to snap your neck when your back is turned.

Stay alert at all times, regularly checking your surroundings when you suspect it’s close by. Once you spot its direction (its line of sight), it should withdraw – however, don’t trap it because this will provoke it and lead to its attack. Instead, consider fleeing if possible, but if you choose to fight, shocking devices would be the optimal choice.

Bunker Spider

In this indoor setting, you’ll encounter colossal arachnids known as Bunker Spiders. These creatures require about five strikes to vanquish. It’s crucial to stay vigilant for their webs and traps set up for an ambush. To increase your chances of success, try to secure higher ground or engage them in groups rather than alone.

Butler

In the latest version, it’s worth noting that Butlers tend to appear together inside the building. Strike one with a heavy object, and you’ll find yourself pursued by Masked Hornets.

Circuit Bees

Outdoor Robo-Bees defend their nests by attacking when provoked. However, if left alone, they generally keep to themselves. This is due to the value of their nests, which can be quite substantial, making them occasionally aggressive when resources are at stake.

Coil-Head

A creepy mannequin creature with tiny arms and a head atop a long spring. It likes to scream, but believe us, you should be screaming too. Unless you’re looking at it, its head will bounce towards you and kill you in one hit. So back away slowly, and don’t take your eyes off it until you’re a safe distance. Don’t engage!

Earth Leviathan

Underground dwells a monstrous, serpent-like being known as the Earth Leviathan, which typically emerges after dusk. If it’s beneath you, the ground will vibrate – at this moment, swiftly change your direction and flee to the opposite location. Interacting with this creature is highly discouraged as it possesses the lethal ability to end your life in a single strike.

Eyeless Dog

At night, these aggressive canines are found roaming outside, but fortunately, it’s simple to steer clear of them. Given their name, the Eyeless Dogs have poor vision, so maintaining a low profile and keeping noise to a minimum will help you slip by unnoticed. However, be cautious as these dogs have been known to board ships. Therefore, ensure your doors are securely shut when they’re near!

Forest Keeper

In the realm of cinematic horror, few creatures strike fear quite like the Forest Guardian, an immense being of nature better left untouched. Should it find you, prepare for a meal – it’s a predator with quite the appetite. Fortunately, detecting its presence is hardly challenging; its colossal strides make it audible from miles away.

Ghost Girl

This one’s quite unsettling. If you spot the Phantom Child in a Red Dress, it implies she has singled you out. To heighten the fear, no one else can perceive her but you. It would be prudent to flee since she can’t be slain, and she’ll end your life in due course.

Hoarding Bug

This indoor dweller is usually spotted accumulating and safeguarding treasures, one might call it a fellow voyager. The Hoarding Beetle, a colossal insect with oversized red eyes, can be found. It will only become aggressive if provoked initially, but if you’re up for a skirmish over some riches, they aren’t particularly tough adversaries.

Hygrodere

The Hygrodere is an ominous blue blob which is found inside, and you die instantly if you touch it. Definitely one to avoid, it’s thankfully pretty slow.

Jester

The Jester is a movable toy resembling a jack-in-the-box, typically discovered within buildings on celestial bodies at higher altitudes. Despite its seemingly harmless appearance, encountering one should prompt you and your group to flee immediately. After winding up, this seemingly innocent figure will suddenly release a menacing skull from the box. This creature is notoriously swift in causing destruction and eliminating everyone in close proximity.

Kidnapper Fox

This tricky monster will spawn outside. They move quickly to attack. It’s best to avoid Vain Shrouds (where they’ll likely spawn) as best you can. You can kill the foxes but it will take a few hits. Kill the Vain Shrouds and Kidnapper Foxes are less likely to spawn.

Maneater

The Maneater is a strange one. You should silence its cries. If you don’t, you’ll live to regret it as it ages to become its deadly adult form.

Manticoil

They’re harmless and found outside. You can kill them if you want.

Masked

As a movie buff, I’d put it this way: In version 45, I stumbled upon “The Masked,” a chilling character that takes over any gamer who clings to the Dramatic Mask for extended periods. This possessed entity not only deceives others by mimicking real players but also cold-bloodedly eliminates them. The twist is, it doesn’t stop there; the deceased player is then transformed into a Masked too, continuing the cycle of terror and deception. And get this, even teleportation can’t save you if “The Masked” has taken over!

Nutcracker

In the latest update for Lethal Company, a fearsome new adversary has been introduced – The Nutcracker! This formidable foe made its debut in Version 45 and comes equipped with a shotgun. It can accurately target you using its single menacing eye. If you’re fortunate enough to eliminate it (by destroying its eye), you will gain possession of the shotgun, which is among the most powerful weapons in Lethal Company’s arsenal.

Old Bird

In Lethal Company, there’s no contending with a more fearsome and formidable beast than the Old Bird. Given that it’s impossible to eliminate this creature, it’s advisable to keep a wide berth from them instead.

Snare Flea

A creature often found indoors, the Snare Flea is significantly more aggressive than the Clutter Beetle. Instead of scurrying around on floors like its counterpart, this flea prefers to lurk on ceilings, ambushing unwary victims who fall below and asphyxiate them. Therefore, always be mindful when looking up! However, if a Snare Flea lands on you, don’t panic just yet. If you have someone nearby, they can repeatedly tap it until it releases its grip. And if you are alone, quickly move outside where these pests cannot thrive.

Spore Lizard

Although the Spore Lizard may appear menacing at first glance, it’s generally peaceful and won’t cause harm if given space. The mist that comes from its tail is safe to be around as well. However, provoke it and it might nip, but don’t worry, such a bite isn’t likely to inflict serious injury.

Thumper

Despite its appearance, the Thumper is an ominous, aggressive being capable of swiftly ending your life upon reaching you. It moves with surprising speed.

Indoors, it resembles a shark with elongated limbs, and on occasion, it generates additional lethal jaws to bite you. It can be defeated, but we strongly advise avoiding it. Fortunately, it’s incapable of hearing, so it won’t detect your hurried escape.

Tulip Snake

They spawn outside and can be killed easily with a hit of a blunt object. Dangerous in numbers.
