As a long-time fan of Dungeons and Dragons, I can’t help but feel a pang of nostalgia as I write this. The announcement that Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance is shutting down its servers on December 24th is like the final blow to an already fading memory.
As a devoted fan, I can’t forget the thrill of “Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance,” the team-based game from Wizards of the Coast that launched in 2021. Recently, the developer Tuque Games has made an announcement on Steam, clarifying that they will be shutting down the servers on December 24th. This means that the online multiplayer experience we once enjoyed will no longer be available.
Moving forward, you won’t be able to buy or access the game title anymore. If you already own the base game and its DLCs, you can still play it solo. However, since there are no AI companions available, your gaming experience will be diminished. Unfortunately, there’s also no local co-op support.
Despite receiving numerous upgrades throughout its lifespan, the game’s active player community has significantly dwindled, rendering cooperative play almost non-existent, even before the servers were discontinued.
