ZOTAC leaks NVIDIA’s flagship GPU lineup; a lack of RTX 5060 bodes well for Intel

ZOTAC leaks NVIDIA's flagship GPU lineup; a lack of RTX 5060 bodes well for Intel

As a tech enthusiast with a passion for high-performance graphics cards, I’ve been eagerly following the latest developments surrounding NVIDIA’s RTX 5000 series. The leaks from ZOTAC and Videocardz have only fueled my anticipation for these powerhouses.

The possibility of NVIDIA’s upcoming RTX 5000 graphics cards (GPU) is gaining credibility as details trickle out. Although NVIDIA has yet to officially announce anything, the most recent information originates from Videocardz, which uncovered this during its routine searches for leaked NVIDIA data.

As an analyst, I stumbled upon some intriguing information regarding the upcoming NVIDIA RTX 5000 series GPUs. It appears that ZOTAC, one of our GPU partners, inadvertently posted details about these new graphics cards on their website before schedule. Upon conducting a quick Google search, Videocardz and I uncovered a list of potential models including the GeForce RTX 5090, RTX 5090 D, RTX 5080, RTX 5070 Ti, and RTX 5070.

It appears that most of the information within the ZOTAC website has been removed, as if it was intentionally wiped clean. However, prior to this apparent ‘purge’, Videocardz managed to capture screenshots which corroborate these listings, providing additional details.

In the part concerning GPU filters, there was a momentary appearance of GDDR7 memory type as an available option, and the highest VRAM capacity reached up to 32GB. This strongly hints at the rumored specifications of the RTX 5090, which suggested a 32GB GDDR7 VRAM in its top-tier model.

It appears the RTX 5090 D from ZOTAC’s alleged list may have caught your attention; this version is designed as a workaround for market restrictions in China. Interestingly, I was anticipating the presence of an RTX 5080 D too, but it’s possible that NVIDIA crafted the standard card to adhere to these same restrictions instead.

It seems that there are no listings for the RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti, which aligns with rumors from Videocardz via Benchlife suggesting that NVIDIA might release its cards starting from the RTX 5090 down to the RTX 5070 initially. The less expensive RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti are expected to arrive later in 2025.

Why is NVIDIA waiting to launch the RTX 5060 and 5060 Ti?

It’s typical for NVIDIA to introduce and release its premium GeForce RTX GPUs initially. In September 2022, NVIDIA unveiled its RTX 4000 “Ada” GPUs, starting with the RTX 4090 and RTX 4080. The announcement for the RTX 4070 followed about six months later. The NVIDIA RTX 4060 was made available to consumers a couple of months after that, around the middle of 2023.

It appears that NVIDIA hasn’t made any formal announcements regarding the RTX 5000 yet. However, we can expect some clarity as NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang is due to give a keynote speech at CES on January 6th, 6:30 PM PST, which precedes the official event launch by a day. This could be an ideal opportunity for him to dispel all the ongoing speculation and rumors about the RTX 5000.

In simpler terms, the RTX 4060 graphics card has struggled to keep up since its release a few years ago, primarily due to its limited 8GB video memory (VRAM). Many new games like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle with high-resolution textures perform better on the RTX 3060, which comes equipped with 12GB of VRAM. As games continue to demand more resources, this trend is likely to persist.

As a researcher in this field, I must acknowledge the intensifying competition in the mid-range to budget market segment with Intel’s entry of its Battlemage desktop GPUs. The recently launched NVIDIA Arc B580 is setting the stage as the initial card to enter the market, showcasing an impressive 12GB of GDDR6 VRAM and a competitive price point of $249.

The reviews are overwhelmingly favorable due to its lower price compared to the RTX 4060 by a substantial margin, and its ability to surpass it, thanks to its additional VRAM. Intel’s B570 GPU is set to debut in January 2025 at $219, boasting 10GB of VRAM.

Until NVIDIA reveals the RTX 5060 and 5060 Ti, we can only speculate based on rumors. However, it seems these cards might both come with 8GB of VRAM, which could be a concern if accurate. The VRAM type, GDDR7, will be similar to that in its siblings, but the total amount is troubling. Intel appears to be targeting the budget GPU market aggressively, while NVIDIA continues to lead in high-end graphics processing units.

As a passionate gamer, I can’t help but notice the positive impact of the delayed RTX 5060 launch on Intel. With so many gamers looking for an affordable and powerful graphics card, the new Battlemage hardware has become a sought-after option. However, it seems that this surge in popularity has left Intel’s B580 series sold out everywhere.
