The Good Ship Murder stars say Call the Midwife favourite is the best Santa

As a long-time fan of British television series, I am absolutely thrilled to see Cliff Parisi donning the Santa suit in The Good Ship Murder‘s Christmas episode! Having watched him portray Fred Buckle in Call the Midwife for years, it feels like a delightful reunion to see him in another popular show.

Following its debut on screens last year, The Good Ship Murder is back this holiday season, featuring a special Christmas episode.

Shayne Ward and Catherine Tyldesley resume their roles as Jack Grayling and First Officer Kate Woods, while we welcome fresh faces to our ensemble – among them, a well-known actress from Call the Midwife.

Despite being recognized primarily for his role as Fred Buckle on Call the Midwife, actor Cliff Parisi will soon be seen in the Christmas episode of The Good Ship Murder.

As it happens, he’s rather skilled at putting on the traditional white beard and Santa hat, making him a convincing Santa Claus.

Ward continued: “I literally thought it was him.”

“They didn’t take any chances, he’s a safe pair of hands as Santa,” Tyldesley added.

“He’s had enough practice in Call the Midwife,” Ward said.

In the narrative, I found myself in a captivating moment with Cath, as we pondered locating a genuine Santa Claus. Remarkably, one was present, as if by some magical coincidence. My gaze locked onto him, and it struck me, “It’s Santa.

In this upcoming Christmas special, we find Jack taking on the task of locating a new Santa for the ship. This assignment results in a festive whirlwind of confusion.

Discussing the challenges his character faces in the episode, Ward stated: “I believe he’s constantly striving to win over Kate. Therefore, he’s attempting to prove that if anyone can pull off a miracle, he can. He truly believes in his own abilities.

He insists that embracing the enchantment of Christmas is effortless, and it’s reasonable to expect a Santa figure on a cruise since I’m confident that someone has donned such attire previously.

As a fan, I can’t help but feel the weight on his shoulders. He needs to find someone quickly; it’s crucial, given the excitement brewing among these children aboard this ship. The anticipation is building, and they’re eagerly awaiting Santa Claus, not Jack. Undoubtedly, he’s got a challenge ahead to ensure their Christmas dreams come true.

“Trouble arises during the festive season as the onboard Santa Claus becomes unwell, potentially ruining the spirit for the passengers.

In this scenario, Bev delegates the task of finding a new Santa to Jack, and during his hunt, he stumbles upon Buddy – an experienced comedian based in Dubrovnik who appears to be the ideal candidate for the role.

Yet, unforeseen circumstances throw a wrench into Jack’s scheme, causing everyone to hurriedly work together to ensure a merry Christmas aboard the ship instead.

At the same time, Jamil views the Santa scenario as a significant opportunity. Influenced by Jack and yearning for a life in the spotlight, he eagerly offers to portray an elf, immersing himself wholeheartedly into the part and putting his best effort into it.

Jack takes on a personal challenge: to revive Kate’s holiday enthusiasm and demonstrate the enchantment of the winter celebrations.

Their bond grows stronger the more they interact, sparking curiosity among all about whether this upcoming Christmas might strengthen their relationship even further.

Amidst the joyous holiday season, a slight undercurrent of tension exists between Kate and Piers due to their recent split and the fact that they are still working together. With a fresh professional opportunity on the horizon, Piers is pondering a significant choice concerning his future.

Enhancing the shifting atmosphere aboard the vessel, the recently appointed head of security, Frankie, assumes her position with vigor and swiftly establishes her authority. Meanwhile, Bev encounters a captivating prospect that might propel her into a new phase.
