The latest news about Ai Hoshino gracing the cover of SPUR magazine has sent my heart aflutter! Four and a half years ago, when Ai first stepped onto the pages of Weekly Shonen Jump, I never dreamt that she would become such an icon.
I’m absolutely thrilled about the recent development in the world of “Oshi no Ko”! The cherished B-Komachi idol, Ai Hoshino, graces the cover of one of Japan’s premier fashion magazines, offering a glimpse into a less heartrending narrative for her. Though the manga has only recently concluded, the vibrant “Oshi no Ko” franchise continues to flourish, and its latest wholesome fashion partnership serves as an enchanting peek at what Ai’s career might have become had she continued on her path as an idol.
It was revealed that Ai Hoshino from the series “Oshi no Ko” will be on the cover of “SPUR” magazine’s February 2025 issue, available on shelves starting on the 23rd. This special edition includes a fresh original illustration by Mengo Yokoyari that depicts Ai as a mature fashion model, following her retirement from idol life.
Oshi No Ko’s Ai Takes the Cover of SPUR Magazine Re-Imagined as an Adult
In February 2025, Oshi no Ko will be showcased on the cover of SPUR magazine for a second time. The first instance was back in August 2023 when twin characters Ruby and Aqua adorned the cover, dressed in Tiffany and Dior jewelry.
For the upcoming Resort Collection by Valentino, AI has been selected as the new model, making a powerful statement. In the cover, AI replicates her distinctive double peace sign pose from the first volume of Oshi no Ko, maintaining her vivaciousness even in adulthood, while projecting a more serene and mature demeanor.
The cover idea portrays Ai transitioning into the fashion world after her idol career ends, offering readers a peek at what Ai might have become as an adult, since the manga unfortunately didn’t show this in its storyline.
