Elden Ring: Nightreign Features Enemies From Dark Souls, FromSoftware Confirms

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I must say that the news of Elden Ring: Nightreign‘s integration of enemies from previous FromSoftware franchises has me absolutely thrilled! The Lands Between setting is already captivating, but the prospect of facing off against familiar foes like The Nameless King and the Centipede Demon adds an exhilarating twist.

In a similar vein to Elden Ring: Nightreign’s predecessor, it utilizes the Lands Between setting. However, an exciting addition will be the inclusion of enemies from other FromSoftware series, including those familiar from Dark Souls. This confirmation was made by Director Junya Ishizaki during his conversation with Famitsu.

What’s causing this? It seems to be a consequence of the Nightlord’s influence – powerful entities are required to endure three days and three nights in Limveld in order to conquer. Since Limveld is an alternate reality compared to Elden Ring’s Limgrave, it appears that there are no rules here.

Although FromSoftware hasn’t officially announced which characters will appear, fans have identified potential sightings of enemies such as The Nameless King and his Stormdrake (from Dark Souls 3), as well as what seems to be the Centipede Demon (from Dark Souls). Additionally, the massive spider in an official image could possibly be Duke’s Dear Freja (from Dark Souls 2).

We’ll observe and find out eventually, but eager fans will get an early hands-on experience with the cooperative title before too long. A network test for Xbox Series X/S and PS5 is scheduled for February 2025, and registration starts next month, so keep your eyes peeled for updates!

Next year sees the arrival of “Nightreign: Elden Ring” on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and personal computers. However, it doesn’t offer cross-platform play or a Duo mode support.
