Tekken 8 character list: Full roster of characters explained

As a longtime enthusiast of the Tekken franchise, I must say that this latest roster for Tekken 8 is nothing short of spectacular! With such a diverse array of characters hailing from various backgrounds and employing unique fighting styles, it’s hard not to get excited about diving back into the world of King of Iron Fist Tournament.

The Tekken 8 character list is impressive, even when you don’t factor in its awesome DLC.

In the primary version of the game, there are 32 characters available for selection. However, some of these characters require unlocking before they can be used in their specific Character Episodes, like the newly introduced fighter, Reina.

The roster is bursting with both familiar and fresh faces, and it continues to expand due to downloadable content. Notably, Clive Rosfield from Final Fantasy XVI has been added to the mix!

Here’s a suggestion for paraphrasing:

Devil Jin

In the upcoming Tekken 8 game, the ominous presence of The Black Wings of Ruin is set to leave its mark on the roster. Originally introduced in Tekken 3, but only playable from Tekken 5 onwards, the devilish form of Jin Kazama remains an iconic and stylish character.

Jack-8

In the upcoming game, Tekken 8, you’ll find a playable character known as The Tech-Savvy Destroyer, who employs a raw and powerful combat style. It’s important to note that this character is a fresh addition, and in every previous Tekken game, there’s been a new Jack model.

Jin Kazama

In the upcoming Tekken 8, fans can once again control Jin Kazama, a recurring central character who often takes on a leading role in the game’s narrative (with only a few exceptions). This iconic figure was first introduced in Tekken 3.

Jun Kazama

After making her debut in the initial Tekken game, Jun Kazama is once more a playable character in Tekken 8! Hailing from Japan, she employs her unique Kazama-Style Traditional Martial Arts to outmaneuver and best her adversaries with the help of the Hope’s Radiance.

Kazuya Mishima

A Tekken game wouldn’t be the same without Kazuya Mishima. Known as The Cold-Blooded Oppressor, he has utilized his Mishima-Style Fighting Karate to perpetrate various wicked deeds throughout the series. Remarkably, he has appeared in every Tekken title so far (with a notable exception – he was not playable in Tekken 3).

Kuma

In Tekken 8, the formidable Salmon Master, Kuma, returns with an even more striking coat. Kuma, Heihachi Mishima’s faithful companion, has won over fans with his fearsome application of the advanced Kuma Shin Ken technique rooted in the Heihachi-Style since his debut in Tekken 3.

Lars Alexandersson

In a more straightforward rephrasing: Lars Alexandersson, known as The Lion of the Rebellion, employs his martial arts technique from the Tekken Force in beneficial ways, and he has been a significant character since his debut in Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion.

The iconic Chinese fighter Ling Xiaoyu makes her return as a playable character in the lineup for Tekken 8. Originating from Tekken 3, she’s been a consistent presence since then. Her combat style is rooted in Baguazhang, a martial art form derived from Piguazhang that originates from China.

Marshall Law

I’m thrilled to be back in action, embodying Marshall Law and his signature Martial Arts style in Tekken 8. This iconic character debuted in the first Tekken game and has been a constant presence ever since, with the exception of Tekken 3 where players could control his son, Forest Law instead.

Nina Williams

In simpler terms, Nina Williams – a stealthy fighter hailing from Ireland – is one of the playable characters featured in Tekken 8. She made her debut in the initial Tekken game and has appeared in each subsequent title since then. Known for her Assassination Arts combat style.

Panda

The beloved character, Panda from The Pretty Protector, is once again garnering excitement among fans. With his distinctive Heihachi-Style Advanced Kuma Shin Ken martial arts technique, Panda has solidified his presence in the Tekken series since his debut in Tekken 3 and should undoubtedly secure a place in Tekken 8.

Paul Phoenix

Born in America, fighter Paul ‘Hot-Blooded Destroyer’ Phoenix consistently graces the Tekken series with his presence, starting from its very first installment – Tekken 1. Could this martial artist, who specializes in Integrated Martial Arts inspired by Judo, finally claim victory in the King of Iron Fist Tournament?

Victor Chevalier

Among the freshly introduced personalities in Tekken 8, Victor Chevalier stands out as the creator and coach of the autonomous Raven Unit within the United Nations’ military forces. This cunning undercover agent from France employs his close quarters battle (CQB) fighting style based on espionage techniques to emerge victorious in combat.

Yoshimitsu

Indeed, the renowned ninja makes his return as a playable character in Tekken 8.
