Wendy Williams Attends Son’s Graduation in Rare Public Appearance

Over the years, I have had the privilege of observing the remarkable journey of Wendy Williams, a woman who has not only captured our hearts but also our undivided attention. From her humble beginnings as a radio host to her reign as a television queen, Wendy has proven time and again that she is a force to be reckoned with.

Oh yes, Wendy Williams is out and about.

Previously known for her talk show, she who announced her diagnoses of primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia in February made an infrequent visit to Miami on December 19th to witness her son, Kevin Hunter Jr., aged 24, graduate from Florida International University.

On the given occasion, Wendy seemed cheerful and upbeat, adorning a shimmering black jumpsuit and accessorizing with a “W” pendant necklace, large rings, and multiple gold bangles. At times, she navigated around in a motorized wheelchair, accompanied by her father, Thomas Williams Sr., during the graduation ceremony at the age of 60.

As a devoted mother, I, Wendy, who was wedded to Kevin Hunter from 1999 until 2020, have often expressed my strong bond with my son in terms of traditional values. Back in 2015, I shared with Yahoo Parenting that my son is a well-mannered boy, and everyone who meets him comments on his respectfulness. He does display occasional rebelliousness, but nothing severe enough to demand harsh discipline. Moreover, my husband and I are blessed with only one child—a one-and-done situation—which makes it effortless for us to keep a close watch over him, as he’s the only one in our family circle.

The ex-host of the Wendy Williams Show has not had an outing like this one before, as her health has been deteriorating for over a year now.

According to court documents acquired by TMZ, it was stated that Wendy is suffering from an early form of dementia, which has led to significant cognitive decline and permanent incapacitation.

After learning about her diagnosis in February, Wendy expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support she received from her followers.

She expressed heartfelt appreciation for the love and thoughtful comments she received upon sharing her diagnosis of Aphasia and Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD). In a statement to TopMob News, she marveled at the outpouring of support she’s received. “Your reaction has been absolutely incredible,” she added.

She additionally expressed gratitude towards the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration, acknowledging their thoughtful expressions of support and exceptional initiatives aimed at increasing understanding about FTD.

Wendy made it clear that she will still require “some private time,” yet she wants her followers to know their “uplifting sentiments and support are highly valued.

Since wrapping up her show in 2022, the TV host has largely avoided public attention. However, an exception was made when she and Kevin were spotted at a holistic wellness store in New Jersey on August 19, which is her home state.

At an event that has since been taken down, a picture showed Wendy with long, bright-orange tresses, wearing a navy shirt and white boots. She was pictured carrying a shopping bag and a bouquet of roses.
