As a long-time fan of Gladiators, I can hardly contain my excitement as the show gears up for its celebrity special and the much-anticipated second season in 2025! The prospect of two new Gladiators joining the lineup has me on the edge of my seat, wondering who these enigmatic figures will be.
The popular revival of Gladiators on the BBC is set to make a comeback with a special episode featuring celebrities, followed by another season next year. However, when it returns, the show may have some minor changes in its presentation.
The reason for this is that when the show returns for its second season in 2025, it will be hosted by Bradley and Barney Walsh once more. Notably, there will be an expansion of the cast, as two fresh Gladiators are set to join the team.
The true names of the latest arrivals, along with their assumed Gladiator aliases, are being kept secret at the moment. However, they will soon be joining established cast members such as Sabre, Legend, Diamond, Phantom, Athena, Bionic, Giant, Dynamite, Comet, Viper, Electro, Apollo, Steel and Fire.
Among the cast from Season 1, Nitro won’t reprise his role in the same manner for the upcoming episodes. Due to an injury, he will have to watch from the sidelines instead of participating actively.
In a recent Instagram post, Nitro (also known as Harry Aikines-Aryeetey) shared some unexpected news. He wrote: “I’m all about speed, but sometimes life takes an unexpected turn!
During my preparation for Season 2 this year, I encountered an unforeseen knee injury that will necessitate a change in plans for me during this season, as I will have to miss the upcoming events instead.
Rest assured, I’m refueling and full of vigor like never before! You can bet that I’ll keep igniting the Nitro vibe on your screens, cheering on my fellow warriors, and maintaining an electrifying atmosphere. Let’s dive into series 2 of Gladiators!
In the upcoming New Year’s Day spectacle, the original Gladiators from season 1 will square off against a team of famous personalities. Participating in this event are Rob Beckett, Joel Dommett, Ellie Taylor, and Louise Minchin.
