As a seasoned bookworm who’s had my fair share of literary adventures, I must say that the upcoming lineup of novels is nothing short of captivating! From the eerie tales of witchcraft to heartwarming rom-coms and thought-provoking thrillers, there seems to be something for everyone.

Time to prepare for a storm—and not just because we’re heading into the winter months.

Following the consecutive launches of “Fourth Wing” and “Iron Flame”, fans found themselves waiting an entire year for the third book in Rebecca Yarros’ Empyrean series. However, when the narrative resumes in “Onyx Storm”, set to be released on Jan. 21, Violet Sorrengail is facing some particularly difficult circumstances.

As Iron Flame ended, General Lilith Sorrengail, Violet’s mother, and Xaden Riorson, her great love, managed to rescue Violet at the cost of their own lives. In doing so, Xaden transformed into a Venin – malevolent beings who draw power from the Earth but lose their souls in the process. These creatures pose a significant danger to the people of Navarre and now it appears that Violet must learn how to vanquish them, not only for the safety of others, but also to save Xaden as well.

Regarding the future, let me tell you that the battle is just starting for Violet and her companions. They still have a long journey ahead of them, considering there are yet another two books in Yarros’ series to be published.

There are numerous other captivating books set to hit the shelves this coming winter, aside from those popular on BookTok.

For example, the renowned author Alice Feeney returns on January 14 with the chilling novel “Beautiful Ugly”. This story revolves around Grady, a man still grieving over his missing wife Abby, who disappeared a year ago.
