As a dedicated Stalker fan with over a decade of exploring the forsaken lands of the Zone under my belt, I must say that the latest update for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is music to my radiation-suited ears! The quick fixes in patch 1.1.1 have been a godsend, especially after those pesky bugs forced the game to shut down like Chernobyl’s reactors themselves.
Heart of Chornobyl has received a new adjustment.” Just a short while after launching version 1.1, GSC Game World studio has rolled out patch 1.1.1. Despite being smaller in size compared to the significant update from the same day, it addresses an essential correction.
In the updated version 1.1, two glitches that were previously causing the game to abruptly shut down were addressed and eliminated. Players detected these fixes soon after making the switch, as one problem manifested upon opening saved game states, while the other could potentially trigger a crash when loading shaders. Yet, thus far, there have been relatively few complaints about difficulties in launching the game post-update.
STALKER 2 is finally alive
Indeed, while temporary solutions were appreciated by players, they remain eager for a substantial update. The fact that over 1800 fixes have been implemented is commendable, but fans understand that this is far from the final stage of refining STALKER’s second version. Even minor annoyances are not lost on them as they continue to enjoy the game.
It’s no secret that the modifications linked to the A-Life system garnered the most interest. However, up until now, the system hasn’t quite lived up to its name due to optimization issues. Patch 1.1 was anticipated to revitalize the Zone, and players promptly began experimenting with this new feature.
The good news is that – according to the “testers” – the A-Life system is now incomparably better than what it offered on the release day. Players basically didn’t notice characters or enemies appearing out of nowhere, and from a distance, you can see other stalkers fighting with the mutated fauna of the Zone (or with each other). The difference is almost tangible, which is only partially shown by the videos posted by internet users.
It’s important to highlight that the developers consider this the initial phase of enhancements for the A-Life system. Therefore, we can expect further improvements and fixes in the future. Some players have pointed out that while NPCs no longer disappear from the game, their models don’t always match up, which is understandable since optimization still requires more fine-tuning.
While some enthusiasts anticipate the potential feature for self-governing characters to plunder fallen bodies in the future, it’s important to note that not every fan would embrace this specific choice.
Regardless, the Zone exhibits a livelier atmosphere than ever before. There’s no need to anticipate the upcoming updates in haste; they won’t necessarily include close to 2000 changes.
