Jujutsu Kaisen Creator Possibly Teases New Series

As a die-hard Jujutsu Kaisen fan who’s been riding this magical rollercoaster since its humble beginnings seven years ago, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and nostalgia upon reading Gege Akutami’s heartfelt words at Jump Festa 2025. The man behind our beloved Yuji Itadori has come a long way, transforming a simple idea into a global phenomenon that’s captured the hearts of millions worldwide.

At Jump Festa 2025, enthusiasts can expect thrilling updates about numerous Shonen Jump manga and their animated counterparts. This is an annual gathering dedicated to manga and anime fans, organized by Shueisha and hosted in Chiba, Japan. The creators use this platform to communicate with fans, even featuring messages from renowned artists like JJK’s Gege Akutami. Notably, the event unveiled a sneak peek at the upcoming Culling Game in the anime’s third season.

Before the trailer drops, we catch a glimpse of a stunning new image showcasing Yuji. It’s expected that the upcoming season will cover both Itadori’s Extermination and Perfect Preparation story arcs from the manga. Although these sections are brief, they delve into the aftermath of the Shibuya Incident. The manga wrapped up in September 2024, and it seems that Akutami has already moved on to a fresh venture. Interestingly, Akutami had expressed an interest in creating an idol manga prior to Jujutsu Kaisen. Jujutsu Kaisen is his first serialized manga, and it quickly gained immense popularity.

Jujutsu Kaisen Creator Gege Akutami’s Comment in Jump Festa 2025

The author expresses gratitude to everyone who read “Jujutsu Kaisen”. Your support helped me reach the finish line of this marathon.

As a bystander, I must admit, the topic of anime comes up often in our discussions. For those amongst us who are here primarily for the anime, fear not! The anime saga shall carry on. The mastermind behind it all, Goshozono, leaves me awestruck. Each time I glance over his storyboards, I find myself questioning my initial skepticism, and yes, I have to admit that Jujutsu Kaisen might just be something special. Such is the power of a great mind like his.

Akutami goes on to commend the director, Goshozono, saying, “His skill transcends the boundaries of this series, and I’m eager for everyone to witness just how lucky we are that the project is in his capable hands.

Lastly, he expresses his gratitude once more for the backing you’ve given to Jujutsu Kaisen over the past seven years. As he gears up for his upcoming endeavor, he hopes to repay everyone in kind.

@kaidanatta recently posted a translation of their comment on X, formerly known as Twitter. While they didn’t explicitly mention their next project, it seems quite probable that they are preparing for its release in the near future.
