New Terminator Game Leaks Ahead of Reveal

As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for the Terminator franchise, I must admit, the news of yet another Terminator game in the works has me both excited and slightly skeptical. Over the years, we’ve seen a plethora of games tied to this iconic series, some good, some not so much.

A preview of a fresh video game linked to the Terminator movie series has surfaced prematurely, prior to any formal announcement. Since the early ’90s, we’ve seen regular releases of Terminator games. Some of these games were connected to specific films such as “Terminator”, “Terminator 2: Judgment Day”, or “Terminator: Salvation”. Others, however, have been entirely unique to the gaming world. It appears that another game belonging to this latter category may be in development, although details remain scarce for now.

A new game titled “Terminator 2D: No Fate” has popped up online, as noted by Gematsu. This game was listed on the Australian Classification Board website, along with some initial details. Interestingly, “No Fate” is reportedly being developed and published by Reef Entertainment and is planned for release on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The listing did not provide any information about its release date or window.

From what we’ve learned so far, the key point is who’s developing the game “Terminator 2D: No Fate”. It was Reef Entertainment that published the latest Terminator game, “Terminator: Resistance”, released in 2019. This game was well-received by players, implying that a follow-up like “No Fate” could potentially be quite successful as well.

As a die-hard fan, I’m speculating that given the resemblance of Terminator 2D: No Fate to the style of Terminator: Resistance, it might be a first-person shooter game. However, the “2D” in its title is perplexing and hints at something possibly different. Despite the uncertainty, I’m confident that No Fate will indeed materialize as a game, considering how often ratings board leaks turn out to be accurate.

For your convenience, whenever Reef Entertainment decides to reveal details about “Terminator 2D: No Fate,” we’ll keep you informed right here on ComicBook. You can anticipate updates about the project as we approach the end of this year and move into 2025.
