As someone who has been following anime romance series for the better part of three decades, I must say that the new trailer for Blue Box’s second cour has me both excited and apprehensive. Having witnessed countless love triangles unfold on screen, I can’t help but feel a sense of déjà vu as Hina seems to be losing ground in her feelings for Taiki.
Following the heartwarming performances by Chinatsu throughout the entire season, Netflix and TMS Entertainment’s popular romance series Blue Box is back with a second season in 2025. A fresh trailer gives viewers a sneak peek into what lies ahead for the series’ second half. After an impressive first season, the show took a winter break, but fans are thrilled once more at its upcoming return, based on the newly released trailer.
The Blue Box series will resume on January 2nd, 2025, as officially confirmed at Jump Festa 2025. This return also brings a fresh full-length trailer and visual key for season 2. The trailer hints at upcoming character debuts and impending plot twists. Additionally, the new opening theme “Saraba” by Macaroni Empitsu and ending theme “Contrast” by TOMOO were unveiled with the release of the second-cour trailer. Fans can expect to enjoy these new themes starting from the resumption of the series.
Blue Box‘s New Trailer Teases Lots of Drama and New Characters Coming in Cour 2
In the latest preview for season 2 of “Blue Box,” there are prominent scenes showing Chinatsu and Haryu competing at the Nationals tournament. Notably, Haryu is depicted squaring off against Hyodo in a singles match. Meanwhile, Taiki is shown diligently training as per his routine, but his trip to watch the Nationals introduces him to some fresh faces.
In this updated version, we find Haryu’s girlfriend introduced as Karen. So far, she has only been mentioned by name. A fresh character introduced in the trailer is Ayame, Karen’s younger sister. Both Ayame and a character named Taiki are seen in the new promotional material. It is expected that Taiki will add more drama to cour 2 of Blue Box. However, what truly captures attention in the new trailer is the beach trip, which is a common element in romance anime series and is making its appearance in cour 2 of Blue Box.
In the trailer, it seems that Taiki and Hina’s relationship may take an intriguing turn, as Hina appears distressed throughout. The first season ended with a suspenseful cliffhanger, hinting at a love triangle where Hina might end up being the one left out. Regardless, the second season of “Blue Box” promises to be exciting!
