As a seasoned observer of the entertainment industry, I find myself deeply troubled by the recent events surrounding Blake Lively. It is heart-wrenching to see such a talented and accomplished woman, who has graced our screens with her charm and charisma for years, find herself at the center of an alleged smear campaign.
More details are being uncovered in Blake Lively‘s legal complaint against Justin Baldoni.
In the extensive report submitted to the California Civil Rights Department, now in possession of TopMob News, the actress has alleged that her costar and director from “It Ends With Us” engaged in sexual harassment during filming and subsequently orchestrated a defamatory campaign against her as a form of retribution for voicing apprehensions about his conduct on the set of the “Colleen Hoover” adaptation.
According to the filing, it was Ryan Reynolds, Lively’s husband, who stopped following Baldoni on social media, which was one of the triggers that prompted the Jane the Virgin alum and his team to organize their own public relations campaign.
In a text to his publicist Jennifer Abel dated May 2024 (as per court documents), Baldoni expressed concern that Reynolds might block him on social media when their movie is released, since he claimed Reynolds had already done so earlier. However, as per Lively’s complaint, it was reportedly 10 months prior to this message when both Reynolds and the “Deadpool” star allegedly stopped following Baldoni’s social media accounts.
Approximately a month after the incident, it is reported that Abel appeared to show increased worry about Baldoni’s public persona, as Lively and the cast of “It Ends With Us” decided to handle promotional activities for the movie independently from him. In her statement during the filing, Lively mentioned she had not yet spoken out against his alleged workplace misconduct at that point in time.
In a text message he sent to a coworker in June 2024, Abel expressed that it’s not appropriate for fans to speculate about why JB isn’t involved in these matters.
Next month, I was absolutely thrilled when Baldoni brought on board crisis PR specialist Melissa Nathan. As Lively claimed in her filing, to keep the public unaware of the sexual harassment and toxic workplace accusations, Baldoni, his PR team, and Wayfarer Studios allegedly orchestrated a multi-month smear campaign against her. In this campaign, they supposedly fabricated, disseminated, exaggerated, and escalated content intended to undermine Lively’s credibility.
Nevertheless, attorney Bryan Freedman of Baldoni has refuted all the allegations made by Lively in a statement to The New York Times. He labeled her complaint as “completely false” and another desperate attempt to improve her negative reputation, which was earned from her own remarks and actions during the campaign for the film.
TopMob News contacted a representative for Abel regarding Lively’s allegations, but have yet to receive a response.
After voicing her concern, Lively found herself surrounded by a wave of encouragement from relatives and acquaintances such as her sister Robyn Lively, Gwyneth Paltrow, and her Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants co-stars America Ferrera, Alexis Bleidel, and Amber Tamblyn.
According to America, Amber, and Alexis, who have been friends and sisters with Blake for more than twenty years, they are standing with her in solidarity as she battles against the alleged smear campaign aimed at tarnishing her reputation.

In my professional opinion as a lifestyle expert, following Blake Lively’s legal allegations against Justin Baldoni, her costar and director on “It Ends With Us,” claiming sexual harassment during filming and later involvement in a defamatory campaign against her (allegations he has since refuted through his lawyer), Colleen Hoover, the author of the book that inspired the movie, expressed a supportive message to the actress.
On her Instagram Stories, December 21st, Colleen expressed: “@blakelively, from the moment we first crossed paths, you’ve consistently been truthful, compassionate, encouraging and understanding. I appreciate you for being exactly who you are. May you never alter, may you never fade.
Blake’s sister, fellow actress Robyn Lively, also weighed in.
Robyn posted on Instagram, Dec. 23rd, urging everyone to thoroughly read an article from The New York Times. This piece exposes the individuals responsible for a cruel and malicious smear attempt targeting her sister.
The actress from Teen Witch later remarked that it similarly underscores the kind of treatment Blake is said to have encountered during filming for It Ends With Us.
The director of “A Simple Favor” that Blake starred in, also spoke up for her, writing on December 22nd: “I’ve made two films with Blake and all I can say is she’s incredibly professional, creative, collaborative, talented, and kind. It’s terrible that such a smear campaign was launched against her, and she didn’t deserve any of it.” He found it regrettable that she had to endure this ordeal.
On December 22nd, the comedian expressed her backing for the former Gossip Girl cast member by posting on her Instagram Story, “I stand with Blake.
Not long after Blake’s grievance became known, the creator of Goop posted a picture of Blake Brown’s hair company, which is also named Blake, onto her Instagram Story, stating, “I’ve just added it to my Christmas wishlist.
Blake’s closest friends and Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants co-stars collectively wrote a message on Instagram, published on December 22nd, expressing their support for her by standing alongside her as she courageously battles against the alleged smear campaign aimed at tarnishing her reputation.
