Every Wallace & Gromit film ranked from worst to best

As a lifelong aficionado of claymation masterpieces, I find myself enchanted by the return of Wallace & Gromit this festive season, with their latest escapade, “Vengeance Most Fowl”. The sinister penguin, Feathers McGraw, has been a favorite villain of mine ever since his mischief in “The Wrong Trousers”, and I must say, his return to our screens is a delightful treat.

This holiday season, the dynamic duo of Wallace and Gromit is back for another thrilling escapade! And guess who’s making a comeback as both a cherished foe and a source of terror? None other than Feathers McGraw!

Having spent time in prison since his last appearance in “The Wrong Trousers”, the cunning penguin returns with a thirst for vengeance, ready to go to any lengths to carry out his plan.

After the initial airing of Vengeance Most Fowl on Christmas Day, it feels fitting now to reminisce about all the past escapades that Wallace & Gromit have experienced and determine which one is their best adventure.

To clarify, although each Wallace & Gromit production is undeniably funny and entertaining in its own right, for the purpose of creating a list, I’m forced to prioritize.

Let’s dive right in! We’re about to unveil a list comparing all Wallace & Gromit movies, arranged from least favorite to most beloved.

Wallace & Gromit films ranked

6. The Curse of the Were-Rabbit

Currently, you might sense some disapproval regarding Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit finishing last, but there’s a certain unsettling quality to the Were-Rabbit that stands out.

We get it, it’s Wallace, let’s resolve this quickly now!

However, Hutch will remain the cutest little guy in Wallace & Gromit history. Sorry, Gromit!

5. A Grand Day Out

In our initial encounter with Wallace, we learn that he has a deep affection for cheese, as well as an intriguing journey he embarked upon to obtain some celestial cheddar from the moon.

A 23-minute episode all about cheese? Count me in.

4. A Matter of Loaf and Death

At long last, it’s Gromit’s turn for romance! Typically, many of Wallace and Gromit’s trials originate from Wallace’s devotion to a woman close to his heart. However, until this point, there hasn’t been any love interest for Gromit – but that changes now!

Sharing a common disdain for Piella Bakewell’s murderous intent towards bakers, Gromit and Fluffles collaborate to rescue Wallace amidst growing affection between them. Admittedly, I was moved when it appeared that their relationship had ended, but everything was resolved happily in the climactic scenes of the 30-minute special.

Love at last for Gromit!

3. A Close Shave

A Close Shave is beyond wacky – and that’s what makes it so good. When Wallace falls for Wendolene Ramsbottom, it is revealed that her evil dog Preston is behind rallying up sheep for the shop and has a sinister plan in mind.

Gromit investigates as Preston steals Wallace’s Knit-o-Matic blueprints, but this doesn’t work in his favour when Preston frames him for sheep rustling and Gromit is arrested and imprisoned!

It’s a sad time for Wallace, but he does have company in the form of some sheep – including Shaun.

Introducing Shaun the Sheep is what sets A Close Shave among the top Wallace & Gromit movies.

2. Vengeance Most Fowl

In the Wallace & Gromit universe, this full-length film offers all the ingredients for triumph.

As a devoted cinema enthusiast, I must say it’s been quite a while since Wallace and Gromit graced our TV screens during the festive season, but rest assured, Nick Park never fails to deliver.

1. The Wrong Trousers

It’s simply the best, isn’t it?

Feathers McGraw, a character known for his subtle yet impactful actions, has become one of the most cherished and fearsome villains in the series due to his quiet but powerful presence.

The film’s mix of comedy and tension earns itself a worthy spot at the top.
