As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for open-world, immersive experiences, I’ve been eagerly awaiting STALKER 2. With my fair share of heartbreaks from delayed releases and unfulfilled promises, I can’t help but feel a mix of anticipation and skepticism when it comes to this title.
It’s been confirmed that STALKER 2 is only available on Xbox Series X|S for three months due to a timed console exclusivity deal. Since the game was launched on November 20th, it’s possible we might see a PS5 version as soon as February 20th. However, given the information at hand, it seems unlikely that GSC Game World will be able to prepare and release a port that quickly.
In an interview with Tech4Gamers, director Ievgen Grygorovych revealed that the Ukrainian team is currently concentrating on refining and maintaining the current versions of their game. Given their location and the initial criticism for bugs upon release, it seems logical for the studio to first enhance the core gameplay before considering expansion to other platforms.
The positive aspect is that when the update eventually comes to PS5, it’s likely to be in top condition since the developer would have fixed most of the issues and significantly enhanced the gameplay by then. Therefore, we’re content to simply be patient and look forward to the completed version, whenever it’s ready for launch.
