Jujutsu Kaisen Epilogue Finally Revisits One of Its Biggest Yuji Teases

As an avid fan of manga and anime with over two decades of fandom under my belt, I must say that Gege Akutami has truly outdone himself with the epilogue of Jujutsu Kaisen. The tender moment between Yuji Itadori and Yuko Ozawa was a heartwarming touch to an already brilliant series.

Though Jujutsu Kaisen concluded its manga run earlier this year, creator Gege Akutami has returned to provide a satisfying conclusion. Instead of merely wrapping up the lives of secondary characters who battled major shonen curses, Akutami delved deeper into the future prospects of Yuji, Megumi, and Nobara, our primary protagonists. With the major threats vanquished, the main character, Yuji, may now find his storyline heavily centered around romance as he moves forward.

Heed this advice: If you wish to avoid knowing the ending of Jujutsu Kaisen, be aware that we’re venturing into territory with major spoilers ahead. Before the battle against Geto and his group in the Shibuya Incident Arc, the supernatural shonen series Jujutsu Kaisen reintroduced a character who seemed to harbor deep affection for its heroic protagonist. Yuko Ozawa, once Yuji’s classmate, had spent years admiring Sukuna from afar. Although Yuko didn’t join forces with her potential lover during the fight, there was always a glimmer of hope for Ozawa – and that hope is confirmed in the series’ epilogue.

Yuji x Yuko

At the end of the series, Yuji and Yuko have a final meeting, marking the conclusion of the story. Since Sukuna has been vanquished, they can now enjoy each other’s company, appreciating the falling snow together. Although she doesn’t openly express her feelings to Yuji, it is clear from Yuko’s thoughts that she harbors affection for Itadori. This revelation will undoubtedly leave Yuji’s friends, Megumi and Nobara, utterly amazed.

The influence of “Jujutsu Kaisen” series is expected to endure in the shonen genre for many years, despite its conclusion. Although the manga has concluded, the anime adaptation still holds significant events yet to be depicted, suggesting multiple seasons and films in the pipeline to catch up. A crucial moment between Yuji and Yuko might not occur for a while, but it’s certain to leave a lasting impression on Studio MAPPA when it is eventually released.
