As a long-time fan of both Final Fantasy and Tekken series, I can hardly contain my excitement at the recent crossover between these two beloved franchises! Watching the live stream where Hiroshi Takai, director of Final Fantasy XVI, and Naoki “Yoshi-P” Yoshida reacted to Clive’s Tekken 8 skin was a truly unforgettable moment.
The playful banter between these two gaming titans had me chuckling like a schoolboy with a new toy. I could feel the camaraderie between them, as if they were old friends sharing a private joke. The way Yoshi-P joked about Takai approving Clive’s unique Tekken outfit during his drunken stupor made me reminisce about my own late-night gaming sessions with friends, where we often made decisions we might regret in the morning.
Katsuhiro Harada’s teasing of Yoshi-P was a delightful addition to the exchange, adding a touch of friendly rivalry between these two giants of the gaming world. It brought back memories of my own debates with friends over which game was superior, Final Fantasy or Tekken.
The whole interaction left me feeling a sense of nostalgia and anticipation for what’s to come. I can’t wait to see Clive in action as part of the Tekken roster and hope for more collaborations between these iconic franchises in the future. And let’s not forget, if Clive is going to fight in Tekken, he should have all the features that the usual characters have – or else, it won’t be “as fun” as Yoshi-P so eloquently put it. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what other surprises these developers have in store for us!
As a side note, I’d like to share a joke that came to mind: Why did Clive bring a sword to a fistfight? Because he heard there was going to be a Final Fantasy crossover with Tekken!
At an engaging gathering, creators of Final Fantasy XVI have responded to an unexpected minimalistic design for protagonist Clive in Tekken 8, leading to this RPG hero officially joining the lineup of the newest installment in the iconic fighting series.
A brief video shared by streamer Aitaikimochi showcased Final Fantasy XVI director Hiroshi Takai and producer Naoki Yoshida in a live segment. The clip featured a glimpse of the character Clive wearing a traditional Japanese undergarment known as a scarlet fundoshi, courtesy of GamesRadar+. Yoshi-P playfully asked Takai, “Being the director of FF16, you gave the green light for this?” To which Takai humorously replied, “I might have given the nod, or I might have been a bit absent-minded at the time.
Katsuhiro Harada, the director of the Tekken series, playfully questions Yoshida about his enthusiasm for Clive’s latest appearance, hinting if he might be a bit eccentric. Yoshida remains calm and explains that to make Clive fit in with the other characters in Tekken, he needs to have similar features, or else it won’t be as enjoyable.
