2025, for those unaware, marks the “Year of The Snake” in the Chinese zodiac calendar. To honor the arrival of this new year, the creator of One Piece has unveiled fresh artwork, featuring Luffy, our beloved Straw Hat Captain, hitching a ride on an animal that perfectly aligns with the theme of the New Year. With the anime series currently pausing its run on the Egghead Island Arc due to the remastering of the Fishman Island Saga, fans of this shonen universe are relishing in any morsel of content we receive. Fortunately, the generous Eiichiro Oda is more than happy to satisfy our cravings for more from this captivating world!
As someone who has spent countless hours immersed in the captivating world of One Piece, I must say that the diverse and intriguing creatures inhabiting this universe never fail to amaze me. Among these fascinating beings, one creature that truly stands out is the giant snake Nola from Skypiea. Having followed the Straw Hats’ adventures since their early days, I can attest to how the encounters with such colossal reptiles have shaped the course of their journey.
The first time the Straw Hats crossed paths with Nola was in the ethereal floating island that is Skypiea. Despite its celestial location above the Grand Line, the unique environment of this land boasts a thriving ecosystem teeming with wild creatures. As we delved deeper into the series, it became clear that even an island floating high above the world could harbor its own set of challenges and threats, one of which was the giant snake Nola.
At first, Nola appeared as a formidable adversary to our beloved pirates, but as the story unfolded, this larger-than-life reptile proved to be much more than just a mere obstacle. Eventually, Nola became an invaluable ally in the Straw Hats’ quest to defeat the arc’s main antagonist, Enel. The bond that formed between these unlikely companions serves as a testament to the unpredictable nature of One Piece and its knack for turning adversaries into allies when least expected.
In conclusion, Nola the giant snake is more than just a creature from the One Piece universe; it’s a symbol of the ever-changing alliances and friendships that define this captivating series. For those who have followed Luffy and his crew on their quest for the ultimate treasure, encounters with creatures like Nola are an essential part of the One Piece experience.

A Straw Hat New Year
Previously, Eiichiro Oda has delighted fans by unveiling fresh artwork each New Year. For the Year of The Dragon according to the Chinese Zodiac, he produced new artwork showing Monkey D. Luffy alongside Momonosuke, the son of Kozuki Oden. In this piece, the rightful ruler of Wano Country, who can transform into a dragon thanks to an artificial Devil Fruit, is featured. This artwork was originally intended for 2024. Although the snake in the artwork isn’t Nola, it underscores that Oda’s artistic talents remain unmatched.
Hello there! I’m thrilled to share my excitement as a long-time One Piece fan. After all these years, I can still recall the day I picked up the first manga volume and was immediately hooked. Now, fast forward to 2025, the anticipation is building as Eiichiro Oda’s artwork arrives in Nagasaki.
First off, let me tell you that we’ll be diving back into the anime with the Eggerhead arc starting in April. I can hardly contain my enthusiasm for this reboot, having followed the series since its early days, and I eagerly await the powerful comeback after this charging break.
As a loyal fan, I wholeheartedly invite you to join me on this thrilling journey through the world of One Piece, and I hope this year will bring many more unforgettable adventures for us all!

One Piece’s Anime Return
To remind those who might have forgotten, the ongoing remastered anime arc for One Piece is allowing animators to work meticulously on the Future Island Arc at present. This situation also offers Eiichiro Oda a chance to generate additional manga chapters to adapt since he’s simultaneously working on the Netflix live-action adaptation. One Piece will resume with fresh episodes this coming April, showcasing some of the most intense battles in the shonen genre so far. With Dr. Vegapunk being pursued by the World Government, Luffy and his crew will encounter some incredibly powerful adversaries in 2025.
It’s common knowledge among fans that the Straw Hat Pirates are now embarking on the climactic phase of the shonen series “One Piece”. Although creator Oda hasn’t specified an exact release date for the final chapter, he seems to be preparing the ground for Luffy and his companions to undertake their final voyage across the Grand Line. Given the length of past arcs in “One Piece”, it looks like we’ll probably be enjoying many more years of the Straw Hats’ story unfolding, both in the manga and the animated adaptation.
