Fate/strange Fake Releases Premiere Episode Early (And How You Can Watch)

As a dedicated fan of the Fate franchise who has eagerly awaited its return for nearly a decade, I can’t contain my excitement about the upcoming release of Fate/strange Fake! With a unique setting in Nevada, USA and an intriguing premise that deviates from the traditional Holy Grail War format, this spin-off series is already shaping up to be a breath of fresh air.

Having watched the 55-minute prologue last summer, I was hooked by the captivating characters and intricate plot twists. The latest trailer only further piqued my curiosity, especially with the introduction of new Masters and Servants like Hansa Cervantes and No Name Assassin.

The fact that A-1 Pictures is handling the animation for Fate/strange Fake gives me confidence in its visual quality, as their previous works have always been visually stunning. I’m particularly looking forward to seeing Richard I and Ayaka Sajou in action, given that they take center stage in the key visuals and promotional materials.

To top it all off, the free English dub premiere on YouTube from January 8th to 13th, 2025, means that fans everywhere can get a taste of this new series without breaking the bank. I’m counting down the days until Fate/strange Fake graces our screens in 2025!

Oh, and let me tell you a little joke – they say the Holy Grail is the key to eternal life. Well, I’ve been watching Fate for so long, I think I might just have found it!

After a long wait, the popular Fate franchise has returned with a brand-new anime TV series, and if you can’t wait to watch it, both English subbed and dubbed versions of Episode 1 are available today on Crunchyroll. In addition, fans will have an opportunity to catch the premiere for free on YouTube soon. During the “Fate Project New Year’s Eve TV Special 2024,” a new trailer and the first episode of Fate’s latest spin-off, Fate/strange Fake, were revealed. The series is scheduled to air in 2025.

Although a specific release date for the entire series hasn’t been disclosed yet, the English-dubbed premier episode of Fate/strange Fake, titled “The Heroic Spirit Incident,” will be streamed free of charge on Aniplex’s official YouTube channel from January 8th to January 13th, 2025. This way, fans everywhere can enjoy the start of the new series in the upcoming year.

Fate/strange Fake Announces 2025 Release Window With Special Early Premiere

Since Ufotable’s adaptation of “Unlimited Blade Works” aired in October 2014, it has been almost a decade since a comprehensive Fate anime series was released. The anticipation for the spin-off titled “Fate/strange Fake” has been building ever since its announcement at Anime Expo 2023. In July 2023, a 55-minute TV special prologue, named “Fate/strange Fake: Whispers of Dawn“, was released to introduce the intricate and captivating premise and characters of this new spin-off. The following year is expected to bring the full story to life once again, with A-1 Pictures taking charge.

The anime titled “Fate/strange Fake” is based on a spin-off light novel by Ryohgo Narita. It revolves around an unconventional Holy Grail War, orchestrated by a group of magicians in the U.S., who aim to reenact the mysterious Third Holy Grail War that took place in Fuyuki. However, their sloppy recreation of the ritual leads to several unusual discrepancies, the most significant being the absence of a Saber-class servant in this False Holy Grail War.

Amidst the turmoil of this False Holy Grail War, we also encounter the True Holy Grail War happening concurrently in Japan. This is where the protagonists of “Fate/strange Fake”, Richard I (Saber) and his master Ayaka Sajou, come into play. They have been prominently featured on the key visuals and promotional materials for the series thus far.

Unlike the majority of the Fate series, which is set in Japan, Fate/strange Fake stands out by being set in Nevada, USA. This change of scenery is notable. The series also presents a host of new characters, both Fake and True Servants, as well as familiar faces such as Gilgamesh. The recent trailer predominantly focuses on Hansa Cervantes, the cyborg supervisor of the False Holy Grail War in Fate/strange Fake. Eagle-eyed fans might even spot some of these other Masters, like Orlando Reeve and Tiné Chelc, and Servants such as No Name Assassin and Alexandre Dumas, whose distinctive checkered teeth are hard to miss.

Indeed, it appears that A-1 Pictures has nearly perfected both the visuals and animation in this production, making Fate/strange Fake an intriguing spectacle for enthusiasts of TYPE-MOON’s expansive and cherished universe. Fortunately, with the introduction of the new YouTube premiere event, everyone now has the opportunity to experience the allure of this exciting spin-off series.
