Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio remains exceptionally active within the gaming industry. In just a few months, they’re set to launch “Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii,” and at The Game Awards in December, they unveiled not one but two new projects – a fresh installment of “Virtua Fighter” and another game yet to be officially named, referred to as “Project Century.
The trailer for Project Century has generated a lot of fan theories and guesswork since its release, as Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and Sega have provided no details about it. Since the game is set in 1915 Japan, fans have speculated that it could be a prequel to the Like a Dragon/Yakuza series. However, according to recent statements from RGG Studio boss Masayoshi Yokoyama, this may not actually be the case.
During a recent live broadcast, Yokoyama clarified that all fan theories and speculations about Project Century have been off the mark thus far. Moreover, RGG Studio deliberately omitted any hints or clues from the trailer to prevent revealing any details about it.
“We didn’t include any information that would enable people to guess,” Yokoyama said.
It’s yet unknown when the full details of “Project Century” will be revealed, but given its past performance, it has definitely garnered a lot of positive sentiment.
In the interim, the upcoming title from RGG Studio, titled “Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii“, is set to launch on February 21 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and personal computers.
