Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Players Have One Last Chance to Get Shiny Rayquaza

Starting from December 19th, gamers playing Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have been given the opportunity to capture a Shiny Rayquaza through an in-game event. This special occasion has seen Shiny Rayquaza appearing in 5-Star Tera Raid battles during this event. Regrettably, all good events eventually conclude, and this one will finish on Sunday, January 5th at 3:59 p.m. PT. If players are yet to secure a Shiny Rayquaza, they only have a few hours left! The Pokemon will possess a Dragon Tera type, so it’s advisable for players to prepare a powerful Fairy or Ice-type character for the battle.

Fans of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet should remember that each save file can only capture one Shiny Rayquaza. Players are free to join Shiny Rayquaza Tera Raids as many times as they wish, helping out friends who haven’t caught it yet. But once obtained, the player will only receive other rewards, not being able to catch more Shiny Rayquazas. The challenge of finding Shiny Pokemon is part of their allure, so it’s understandable that the developers want to limit the number of Shiny Legendaries in a single save file!

The Pokémon Company significantly publicized the Shiny Rayquaza Raid, enticing many former players to rejoin the game. It’s been over two years since the release of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet on Nintendo Switch, making this gap between main series games quite unusual. One can only wonder if future events like the Shiny Rayquaza Tera Raid will be arranged to keep fans engaged while they anticipate the next installment in the franchise. However, a specific release date for Pokémon Legends: Z-A is yet to be disclosed this year.

It’s quite possible that we’ll get more details about both Pokemon Legends: Z-A and Scarlet and Violet on Pokemon Day coming up next month. This day, February 27th, marks the anniversary of the initial releases of Pokemon Red and Green on the Game Boy in Japan. Over the past few years, The Pokemon Company has made this date an annual celebration of the franchise. Each year on this day, fans are usually given news and updates about various Pokemon games. Last year’s event brought us the announcement of Pokemon Legends: Z-A, but since then, official information on the game has been scarce. Here’s hoping that the developers at Game Freak have been busy working on new content for fans to look forward to!
