In the series Dragon Ball Daima, for the first time in the franchise, Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta has been fully unveiled. This new transformation gives Vegeta an advantage over Goku, a rarity in their battles. The ongoing anime of Dragon Ball Daima is causing quite a stir with each episode, filling in blanks from the Majin Buu era’s conclusion. One of the most significant recent revelations is that Vegeta too, shortly after witnessing Goku use it, managed to unlock the Super Saiyan 3 form.
It turns out that Dragon Ball Daima confirmed that Vegeta had indeed mastered the Super Saiyan 3 form, contrary to earlier suggestions in Dragon Ball Super suggesting he might have skipped over it. What’s more, this form gives Vegeta an advantage over his long-time rival for the first time. Interestingly, Vegeta was the first one to use this form while they were still in their small child forms on Earth, and he achieved it through regular training instead of needing to travel to another world.
Vegeta Got Access to SSJ3 on His Own, On Earth
In Episode 12 of Dragon Ball Daima, Vegeta debuted his unique interpretation of the Super Saiyan 3 transformation, distinct from Goku’s. When Goku initially utilized the Super Saiyan 3 during his battle against Majin Buu, he disclosed that he had perfected this metamorphosis while training in the Other World, yet kept it hidden from Vegeta to spare his feelings about their power disparity. Although it consumed energy at an alarming rate for its temporary power surge, it was undeniably a significant form.
In the episode, it’s unveiled that Vegeta had secretly achieved the Super Saiyan 3 transformation, which took Goku by surprise. Unlike Goku, Vegeta didn’t need to travel to any specific location to unlock this form. Instead, he developed this ability through hidden training sessions after the Majin Buu arc. Since Dragon Ball Daima unfolds approximately a year later, Vegeta was able to attain this new form relatively swiftly without external assistance.
Vegeta Might Be Stronger Than Goku Right Now
In Dragon Ball Daima, there’s often debate about who is stronger between Goku and Vegeta. Since we’ve witnessed Goku engaging in lengthy battles, fans noticed him breaking past the limitations he faced in the Third Demon World and adapting to his childlike form. On the other hand, Vegeta had a unique journey; by the time he was battling Tamagami from the Second Demon World, it marked his initial major fight in this realm with his child body. Therefore, certain adaptations were necessary for him.
It’s debatable whether Vegeta needed to transform directly into Super Saiyan 3 to counter the power boost Neva granted Tamagami, unlike Goku who only needed Super Saiyan 2 to secure victory. Since Vegeta has broken through the barrier on using Super Saiyan 3, it won’t be long before we witness Goku attempting this form too. Seeing Vegeta utilize this transformation will likely motivate Goku even more to try his own version.
Even though Goku managed to achieve Super Saiyan 3 independently after spending years in the Other World, Vegeta seems to have a slight advantage in their ongoing rivalry. This is because Vegeta witnessed this form, which might have provided him with a hidden method to attain that level of power. However, it took Vegeta only a few months to reach the same level, while Goku took years. Although Vegeta’s superiority may not always be in terms of raw strength, it is significant that he managed to surpass Goku in an innovative manner. In the world of Dragon Ball Daima, this small victory over Goku, even if it’s just a moral one, marks a shift in their relationship, hinting at a new dynamic in their rivalry.
