Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson might have a limit to how far he’ll go with his daughters.
At the 2025 Golden Globes in Beverly Hills on January 5th, the star of Moana gracefully stepped onto the red carpet. Accompanying him was his daughter, Simone Johnson, making for a heartwarming evening out together. However, it appears that this dynamic father-daughter duo isn’t quite ready to explore deeper aspects of their relationship just yet.
In a humorous exchange during the Live From TopMob: Golden Globes broadcast, Simone expressed reservations about her dad’s proposed shared ventures when Zuri Hall suggested they try skydiving together. (Check out all the stunning red carpet fashions here.)
The 23-year-old conceded that skydiving could be too intense, and this sparked Dwayne to propose a different option: “How about we begin with tequila instead?
Meanwhile, Simone, who Dwayne previously shared with his ex-partner Dany Garcia, seems open to starting with a nature walk first. However, she might be persuaded to go skydiving if given extra encouragement from Zuri and even her own father.
“Let’s do it,” she added. “Never say never.”
For Dwayne, skydiving could make an exciting kickoff to the new year, given that he’s currently basking in the afterglow of Moana 2‘s success. Remarkably, this movie holds a special significance for him, as it provided an opportunity for him to share his cultural heritage.
What makes Moana special, I believe, is the worldwide acceptance and appreciation of its Polynesian culture. It’s truly amazing!
Additionally, he appreciates the empowering nature of the character in Moana, which resonates strongly with his own daughters, Jasmine, aged 9, and Tiana, aged 6, whom he shares with his partner Lauren Hashian. This implies that the girls are inspired by the character in the movie.
Among all the things I cherish about Moana, what I adore the most is seeing my three daughters reflected in her character. Dwayne commented, “And it’s incredible to see them identify with her. Empowering young women is crucial, and I get the chance to embody Maui, yell ‘Cheehoo,’ and encourage our girls – it’s fantastic.
