Kieran Culkin Shouts Out Ex Emma Stone During Globes Acceptance Speech

Kieran Culkin has no bad blood with his ex.

At the 2025 Golden Globe Awards, the actor from Succession was victorious in the Best Supporting Actor category for a Drama Motion Picture, and his winning role was in A Real Pain. In his acceptance speech, he didn’t forget to acknowledge his ex-partner, Emma Stone, and her spouse, Dave McCary, as they were instrumental in producing the project through their production company. (Find out who else made a splash at the 2025 Golden Globes here.)

Kieran remarked from the stage at the January 5th event held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, “Em, Dave, and Ally at Fruit Tree – you all are fantastic, everyone at Search Light!

Apart from Emma, who had a romantic relationship with Kieran following their meeting on the set of the 2009 movie “Paper Man” in 2010-2011, there were other recipients of heartfelt messages during his speech. Kieran acknowledged his wife, Jazz Charton, whom he has two children with – Kinsey (5) and Wilder (3). He thanked her for enduring his “manias,” as well as his costar and director from the movie “A Real Pain”, Jesse Eisenberg.

Kieran went on to say, “I’m here thanks to the amazing script penned by Jesse Eisenberg. Not only is he a brilliant director, but also an exceptional collaborator on-screen, so anyone given the chance to work with him should seize it immediately.

An unexpected recognition was given to Mario Lopez, who, as Kieran confessed, had shared a drink with him just moments before they both appeared on stage.

Kieran admitted, “After taking a shot of tequila with Mario Lopez, I must say, my words are a bit hazy now.

Kieran, who battled against competitors such as Yura Borisov, Edward Norton, Guy Pearce, Jeremy Strong, and Denzel Washington in his category, is not just thankful for Emma’s assistance in producing “A Real Pain”. The actor had previously disclosed that Emma, the star of “Poor Things”, also played a crucial part in persuading him to be involved in the project after he momentarily hesitated.

In a September 2024 interview with Vogue, Kieran recounted her saying, “If you don’t do it, the whole movie will collapse,” and then jokingly remarked, “That’s not your job. You shouldn’t carry that weight at all.
