Intel has disclosed that their latest Arrow Lake CPUs designed for desktops under the Intel Core Ultra brand are set to appear in gaming laptops. The laptop versions of these CPUs will feature comparable characteristics, such as an integrated Neural Processing Unit for AI-related functions, and have been rebranded as the Intel Core Ultra 200HX series.
The premium model of Arrow Lake CPUs for laptops, the Core Ultra 9 275HX, boasts a maximum of 24 processing cores. Eight of these are high-speed performance cores, while the remaining 16 are efficiency cores. Conversely, the lower-tier version, the Core Ultra 5 245HX, sports 14 cores, with six being performance cores and eight being efficiency cores.
Among the Core Ultra series, the top-tier model, the Core Ultra 9 275HX, can turbocharge up to an impressive 5.4 GHz. On the other hand, the mid-range Core Ultra 7 265HX (equipped with 8 performance cores and 12 efficiency cores) also has a strong boost of up to 5.3 GHz, while the Core Ultra 5 245HX can reach 5.1 GHz. Regarding their Neural Processing Units (NPUs), all these CPUs will perform at the same level as the desktop versions, delivering an impressive 13 trillion operations per second (TOPS).
Now that Intel has introduced the Core Ultra 200HX processors, it’s quite probable that hardware manufacturers will soon reveal laptops equipped with these latest processors over the next few months.
