As a devoted fan, I’ve got some disappointing news: 2K Games has taken down the online servers for WWE 2K23. That implies, my friends, that the current go-to title for WWE gaming is now none other than WWE 2K24. The deactivation of the servers in the previous game means we bid farewell to one of its most exciting aspects – the opportunity for players to create and share custom wrestlers and arenas, a feature that significantly enriched our gaming experience.
Besides multiplayer functionality and purchasing Downloadable Content (DLC), additional online aspects have been shut down. The publisher removed the game from all digital marketplaces as early as September, making it unavailable for purchase to encourage players towards the more recent WWE 2K24.
Based on the usual release schedule for WWE games, it’s probable that this year we’ll get a new title, possibly named WWE 2K25. If 2K Games follows tradition, the previous game, WWE 2K24, may have its servers turned off next year. This appears to be part of a strategy by the publisher to encourage players to play only the latest version of the game.
