Jeremy Strong’s expectation in life? To not be invisible…and he’s good at it.
At the 2025 Golden Globes, the actor nominated for Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture for his role in “The Apprentice” chose to wear a mint green velvet bucket hat and Loro Piana suit that echoed the style of Mia Thermopolis from “The Princess Diaries“, as observed by Anne Hathaway.
Dear One, I’m not upset about you borrowing it, but I must admit, I wasn’t entirely aware that you intended to alter the color scheme…,” Anne wrote alongside a split image comparing Jeremy to a renowned scene from the 2001 film in her January 6th Instagram post. “By the way, that’s not the point at hand! Bravo on your well-deserved nomination for The Apprentice!
It’s unclear if the reference to an early 2000s film was deliberate or not, but Jeremy’s costume as a former awkward teen transformed into a princess could be interpreted as excitement for the upcoming third movie. In fact, Adele Lim, the screenwriter of “Crazy Rich Asians,” confirmed in October that “The Princess Diaries 3” is being developed.
Being an unwavering admirer of the original ‘Princess Diaries’, I’m absolutely thrilled to be involved in the creation of this new chapter in the cherished series! I can hardly contain my enthusiasm as we set out to uphold its heartfelt values of female empowerment, happiness, and mentorship, sharing these timeless themes with audiences across the globe.
And rest assured, Anne subtly confirmed her involvement in the project that same day.
In a post on Instagram last October, she wrote, “Amazing things take place!” She’s back in the kingdom of Genovia, this time alongside @adeleblim, @disney, and @somewherepictures. The storybook adventure carries on.
After all, she’s been talking about continuing Mia’s story for years.
She explained to Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live in 2019, “We’ll only proceed if it’s flawless because we care for it as much as you all do. It holds the same significance to us as it does to you, and we won’t release anything until it’s fully prepared. However, rest assured that we are diligently working on it.
However, it’s important to note that Jeremy wasn’t the only one who showcased notable fashion influences at this year’s Globes. Ariana Grande drew inspiration from Audrey Hepburn, while Ayo Edibri paid homage to Julia Roberts. Prepare to be dazzled as we take a closer look at some of the most captivating red-carpet styles…
