The anime series “Dragon Ball Daima” will carry on from this week, being part of the current Winter 2025 anime lineup. Interestingly, the producer hasn’t disclosed any specifics about how long this new installment will run. When it was initially unveiled as a unique project for the 40th anniversary of Akira Toriyama’s initial series launch, there was much excitement about what direction the series would take. As each episode unfolds, our expectations have been turned upside down as “Dragon Ball Daima” consistently redefines the Dragon Ball universe.
The creators of the show have been turning previous assumptions upside down, as Dragon Ball producer Akio Iyoku shared additional details about Dragon Ball Daima during a special “All Night Nippon – Dragon Ball 40th Anniversary Special” radio broadcast earlier this year (as noted by @peraperayume on X). While Iyoku was forthcoming about certain hidden elements that fans can scrutinize as the anime approaches its conclusion, he remained tight-lipped regarding the exact duration of this new series.
Dragon Ball Producer Can’t Reveal When the New Anime Ends
When questioned regarding the potential duration of “Dragon Ball Daima,” Iyoku mentioned that he couldn’t disclose when the final episode would air or how long the series might continue. This statement is partially reassuring and hinting towards the anime’s future prospects. It seems plausible that the show will extend beyond what fans anticipate, but it will also likely connect with upcoming projects being developed by the Dragon Ball team currently. Even before “Dragon Ball Daima” officially debuted, Iyoku had already begun planning for what lies ahead in the series.
Prior to the debut of “Dragon Ball Daima”, Iyoku mentioned, “We’re working on numerous ideas, brainstorming and will keep pushing forward. I’m excited to continue putting my best efforts alongside Masako Nozawa-san [Goku voice actor].” This statement explains why Iyoku can’t disclose the end date of “Dragon Ball Daima” as it may lead directly into what’s next for the franchise. While “Dragon Ball Daima” might not be exactly what follows, Dragon Ball enthusiasts are probably in store for an exciting future within the series.
How Long Will Dragon Ball Daima Actually Be?
After completing its first part last Fall, the “Dragon Ball Daimao” anime is set to resume for its second half this Winter. If it follows a regular schedule and runs for two full seasons, we might be in store for a complete season of 24-26 episodes. However, many fans online are speculating that only 20 episodes could be planned for the series. Given the brisk pace at which the anime has been advancing with the Demon Realm’s Dragon Balls over the past few episodes, it seems increasingly probable that a 20-episode run is on the cards.
Instead of leading straight into Dragon Ball’s future plans, the manga will resume with a fresh narrative that hasn’t been told yet. Moreover, there are big things in store for the franchise beyond this new storyline. It’s possible that Iyoku can’t disclose when Dragon Ball Daima will conclude because it affects the overall schedule of Dragon Ball. As we progress through the story of Dragon Ball Daima, other projects will gain traction, and it won’t be long before things escalate even further.
