Marvel Rivals Season 1 Story

In Marvel Rivals Season 1, “Darkness descends upon New York due to the Timestream Entanglement imprisoning Doctor Strange within the Interwoven Astral Realm – causing the Darkhold manuscripts to be scattered,” according to a summary. “Dracula and Doctor Doom interfere with the moon’s trajectory, casting the city into an endless night and releasing hordes of vampire-like creatures. As the world teeters on the edge, the Fantastic Four team up with esteemed Marvel characters to combat this supernatural darkness using scientific means.

In the present-day New York, Dracula now wields dominion, having seized the power of Chronovium for his own nefarious purposes, as Creative Director Guangguang outlined in Dev Vision Vol. 03. A terrifying shadow falls over the city under the eternal cover of night, while the malevolent forces of the Darkhold sow discord and disorder. It will take a united effort of science and magic to vanquish this emerging menace.

The narrative draws inspiration from the gruesome 2024 comic “Blood Hunt,” which marked a bloody milestone in Marvel history, paving the way for the colossal 2025 event “One World Under Doom.” In this comic series, penned by writer Jed MacKay (known for works like “Avengers” and “X-Men”) and illustrated by Pepe Larraz (“Black Cat”), half-human, half-vampire character Blade harnessed the powers of the Darkforce Dimension to cast a perpetual shadow over the Marvel Universe.

Blood Hunt

In this reimagined tale, Doctor Strange and Spider-Man were bitten by Blade, transforming them into vampires. As Blade’s coven, the Bloodcoven, overpowered the Avengers, even Black Panther was turned into a vampire. Simultaneously, Blade’s daughter, Bloodline, allied with the Avengers, Vlad Dracula – the eternal ruler of vampires and head of the Vampyrsk nation based in Chernobyl.

At Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum in New York City, Dracula confided in Bloodline about her father, the vampire slayer, who had caused eclipses worldwide and unleashed an army of bloodthirsty vampires upon the planet. In response, Blade dispatched his coven to track down his daughter, as only she could vanquish him.

At Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum in New York City, Dracula informed Bloodline about her father, the vampire slayer, who had darkened the skies and unleashed an army of bloodthirsty vampires upon the world. In response, Blade sent his coven to hunt for his daughter, as only she could defeat him.

In due time, it came to light that Blade had been overtaken by the spirit of the initial vampire, Varnae. This spirit transported an ancient Atlantean Temple, known as the First Blasphemy, into Central Park’s heart. Meanwhile, Doctor Strange, employing his astral form, sought assistance from Doctor Doom in Latveria. It was discovered that only Doom could perform a spell to expel the Darkforce. However, this could be achieved if Doctor Strange were to transfer to him the title and powers of Sorcerer Supreme.

In issues #21 and #22 of Ryan North and Ivan Fiorelli’s comic book Fantastic Four, Reed Richards found out that his elastic skin couldn’t be punctured by vampire bites. This super-scientist then tried to develop a cure for vampirism, but he confessed: “I can tackle what I can grasp, yet an enchanted blood curse… it doesn’t align with my understanding. I can’t comprehend it, as it contradicts the rest of my knowledge.” Meanwhile, in Arizona, the remaining members of the Fantastic Four defended against a vampire assault while they waited for daybreak. When the sun rose again, Reed was astonished to find out who had resolved their problem: his arch-nemesis Victor von Doom.

In the grip of an ancient vampire’s power, Blade intended to harness the living Darkhold during a ritual at the Temple of the First Blasphemy, aiming to metamorphose into the Unliving Darkforce and bring about the destruction of all things. However, as unveiled in issue #5 of Blood Hunt, Doom conducted his own ritual to counteract the darkness and repel the forces of the Darkforce Dimension, leveraging his recently acquired power as Sorcerer Supreme.

Doom thus provided an opportunity for the heroes, allowing Bloodline and the vampire-bitten Miles Morales to deal the decisive blow, freeing Blade from Varnae’s control. The darkness retreated, giving way to daylight once more… but only for Doom to assert his position as Earth’s supreme Sorcerer Supreme.
